Going to go for my MBA when my wife finishes her masters next year.

Did anyone get in with just professional experience and Bachelors? LSUS mentioned that I can pay the registration fee and let the admissions board decide if I need to take the GMAT or not. Don't really want to waste my time applying if they are going to require it.

Thought I'd see if any of you guys were able to get provisional status etc. before I blow time and money on the exam.

-BS in Business Admin. from LSU (< 3.0gpa)
-3 years management experience (project management & process improvement)

Welcome, GetMoney11 and congrats on looking to pursue your MBA. I got in without taking the GMAT. I also have a B.S. in Business Admin. I got mine way back in 1990. They did also consider my 25+ years of career experience.

I'm very confident you'll get in.

Hi guys,

I've been reading with attention all 36 pages in this forum. This is due to my interest in getting my MBA with Lsus. I already got accepted but still waiting to get some more info about classes and experiences from other students.

This is a high demanding program in all aspects. Can you please list some of the books teachers are using? And since I have to take BADM700 & BADM701, do you guys suggest I SHOULD take them in the first place? I am coming back to academic waters after 20 years off my last semester in college.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hi tonnetMBA, welcome to the forum and LSUS. I just completed my second class in the program. I'd been out of school 19 years so I understand where you're coming from.

This program is very doable. My first class was Marketing (MKT 701) with Dr. James. She is great and always available to help. I enjoy marketing so that's why I took it first. My advice would be to take a course in a subject you like to start out. That built my confidence.

Greetings everyone!

I've been following this forum for quite some time. I will be starting my fifth class in the program in the AP1 Spring. The class I will be taking is FIN 701 with Vines.

So far, I have taken:

MADM 760- Bigler
ECON 705- Shauangessy (probably spelled wrong)
MADM 752- Knotts
MKT 701- James

If anyone has any questions on those, I'd be glad to help!

Would anyone be able to send me the Ebook/PDF for FIN 701? minhphamdude@gmail.com

Wolfpack, thanks for your post. I'm curious about ECON 705 with Shaughnessy. How demanding was it? I'm hoping not too much "busy work".

ECON with Shaughnessy isn't about busy work, but hard and analytical demanding tests.

ECON 705 with Shaughnessy had 2 quizzes, a self assessment and a test due each of the 7 weeks. He also gives an outline of the test before you take it, so if you complete the outline, you should be okay for the test.

ECON 705 was pretty tough. I scraped by with a B, and I mean scraped. As others have mentioned, not a lot of busy work, but the material is pretty challenging.

Thanks for the feedback on ECON. If I had to pick my poison, I'd go with tougher tests and less busy work. The busy work tries my patience.

I've registered for MADM 701 with Williams and MKT with James. I have every intention of dropping one. Which would y'all suggest? This will be my first class since 2004.
