How was MADM 710 with Menon?
Was it a lot of writing?

MAMD 710 did have a good bit of writing. Every week you had either two or three discussion forums that you had to post after reading some supplemental material and had to write at least two replies. You also had to write a learning journal every week that was turned in at the end of the semester. An individual project was due a little after the halfway point and then a group project was due at the end of the semester. Four tests in the class that were monitored through proctorU so you had to pay $15 per test to take it. Also, during last semester while I was taking the class we switched back and forth between proctorU and proctorio which sucked because one of them you had to get on ahead of time and schedule a time slot to take your test you couldn't just log in when you wanted to take it. All in all this class had the most work of any class I have taken so far but the grading wasn't terrible, though a little inconsistent because TA grade everything.

Well damn. I did not receive a waiver for BADM 700, (fundamentals of accounting and finance). I did not take all 3 prerequisites in my undergraduate. Anyone take BADM 700? How difficult/time consuming was it?

Thanks. Sounds like he's not much different than Williams then. I was going to switch if that was the case.

700 isn't bad at all. Normally cover two chapters per week. A homework assignment per chapter and 4 test.

It was fairly simple. It's a couple chapters of homework per week and 4 exams.
The downside of this class is there are no lectures or anything. It's basically a correspondence course. You read the chapter, do the homework, and take the tests.

Hmmm...maybe I'll stack this on with another course in the future.
Thanks for the info.

If you are taking BADM 700 with Wright I would definitely pair with another class. Pretty straightforward. Most of the grade comes from your homework scores.

First post on here!
This is my eighth class taking FIN 701 for AP1 with Vines, MADM 760 with Meeks.
Do you have any pointers with Finance? Seems like a ton of reading. I'm hoping to gain more insight if its better to do just the practice problems and reading guide. Thanks.

Anyone ever take MADM 710 with Kungu?
I was doubling it up with FIN701 and just got the syllabus for MADM710 yesterday... holy shite it seems like a lot of work. Think I'm going to drop it.

And we're off.
ACCT701 -- Mon-Sat assignments and exams in Cengage with no Sundays. This is going to be rough couple of months!
I wish I'd known this prof was going to enforce a sabbath day. I would have taken something else.

I am also in both of these classes and I agree, it seems like a lot. I don't think I am going to drop though.

I've re-read everything for MADM 701 with Williams but those of you who completed the course, please let me know if this is correct. If I wrote at least 500 words per chapter and it equates to 1,000+ for the entire assignment, this is right? Also how we're the module quizzes? Is it pretty general info from the chapters that if you really study the material you should pass the quizzes easily?
Posted on 1/17/17 at 12:18 pm to 9BREES9
For MADM 701......yes, 500 words per chapter is what she is looking for, make sure to follow the rubric to get the remainder of the points. I don't remember quizzes, we just had 2 tests and a quiz as our final, pretty much straight from the book.

Module 7 quiz is the shortest and easiest. I made a C on the first quiz a B on the second 2. The writing assignment and are tedious. Best of luck.

Biggest thing about Williams writing assignments is to make sure that she, or your student teacher, knows what questions you are specifically answering in each of the paragraphs of your weekly writing assignments. Don't be afraid to state the question you are answering in the first sentence of a paragraph.

The quizzes and test in williams MADM 701 are not based on the power points she provides. There are some answers in there. Most of the questions are from a word for word statement in the book. Some of that material is not really a highlighted point. The best thing on preparing for the tests and quizzes is to make sure you have read the chapters really well. Make sure you hit the word counts on everything, make sure you use several outside sources, and make sure your answers to the discussion and round up state exactly what you are about to answer. Example.. The most interesting thing to me was... If you do that you will get a good score on the writing portion and the tests wont have as much impact on your grade. I got 50/50 on all round ups by hitting the word count and specifying the topic you are addressing. I did pretty well on the discussions mostly 90s or above and I got a few Cs and low Bs on the tests and came away with an A in the class.
