Paul, since you're almost done the MBA program, would you mind taking a couple minutes to rate each class you took from hardest to easiest? Would help me as I plan my schedule for 2017.

Thanks.

Hardest:

ECON 705
FIN 701
ACCT 705

Haven't taken ISDS yet, but my gut says it won't be easy.

Easiest:

MADM 751 and 752 (electives)
MADM 760

Annoyingly difficult:

MADM 701
MKT 701

9BREES9 I had my pre-req stats class rounded up to a 90 from 89.5 and then it was curved to a 92. There might be hope of rounding and/or curving your grade. I hope you get that A. Keep us posted.

And Paul Allen many thanks!!

Just completed my first course in the program with ECON 705. How long does it usually take for the grades to be posted to see what we made? I have figured up a grade of 89.94 and I do think that I remember Dr. S. saying that he did no rounding. Here is to hoping he is in the Christmas Spirit!!! That course was tough!!

Grades are due tomorrow at noon. Yeah, I made a C in that class. I couldn't stand the way he taught it.

Thanks Paul. So now I know I've finished the two annoyingly hard classes. They seemed pretty hard so not the most excited to know there's at least 4 more classes that could be even harder.

I think I'm going to stick to one class at a time. Get 6 done in 2017 and the final 2 in spring session of 2018.

The thing I enjoy least is the time commitment. I don't mind the hard work if it could be accomplished more quickly.

I know in MKT 701 with Dr. James she made ait 100% clear at the beginning of the course that there would be no rounding up of grades.

Yeah she made some big statements that there were strict rules and then went on to change some structuring pretty consistently throughout the course. I have no idea who was not following directions and consistently complaining about it. I found it quite annoying to make difficult scheduling choices to meet requirements to then have her making some exceptions and changing dates after the fact.

It is definitely one of those classes where the professor makes it way harder than for the material due to the structure and some of the assignments.

Paul, did you take FIN 701 with Vines? I have the textbook and he has the reading for Module 1 already listed. Would you suggest I get a head start? Long chapters. Chapter 1 is 52 pages.

SoCal77, I'll be taking Vines this January as well. Is there any way that I can get in on this PDF?

If so, my email is germx39@gmail.com

Thank You

Anybody know anything about the teacher for ACCT 701, Fabio Ambrosio?
I'm also taking this course next semester. Doing a little Googling, I found this profile page on the Pacific Lutheran University site: LINK

I have to assume this is the same guy considering that's a unique name / profession combination. Maybe LSUS "outsourced" this class to him? (My wife recently completed an online degree with ULL and she said this was pretty common with that program - professors from other schools teaching courses.)

I also found this page on RateMyProfessors where he doesn't have that many reviews but what's there is positive: LINK

I'm wondering if this is the first time Fabio has taught this course for LSUS, since there is so little I can find on him.

He provides a reading guide for each test. Learn/study that material only and you will pass with a B or an A. No busy work; just 4 tests weighted at 25% each.

Yes, I had Vines. I would start reading ASAP. I made a B, but barely. It came down to the last of 4 total quizzes. I needed a 92% and made a 95% on last quiz.

I'm officially a corn dog (wait, can I say that on this site?). I mean, I have been accepted. I will enroll in classes on Thursday. I'm still waiting to see if they will waive the two prerequisites. I had a business minor but not a major.

With that little bit of unknown, would anyone be willing to suggest a first class for a man who hasn't been in a class since 2004? I need a warm up to get me back in the swing of things.

BTW...I really appreciate this thread. Lots of good information here.
