Guys, I really appreciate all the insight! So basically, hit the word count, specify what I'm answering, apply real world experience/knowledge, outside source, and thoroughly read the chapters and nothing should surprise me?

Yep thats it. It was time consuming work but i didnt think it was too difficult of a class.

Thank you! Was she a stickler for the 3 external sources per assignment/discussion? I'm going to have 2 for sure on this 1st one for sure. Also, she makes a point about using them within the past 2 years. Did you guys stick to this or did y'all include sources that were more than 2 years old?

I used the book as my only external source for all assignments/discussions/round ups. Only once did I get dinged for not using multiple external sources. The grading is super inconsistent. I literally copied and pasted the example she gave for proper APA format of the textbook, and got dinged on my last assignment for incorrect APA format. I enjoyed the material learned in the class, but really disliked the instructors as a whole. All instructions were as clear as mud.

Yes, she's a stickler for having at least 3 sources so make sure you do. Doing a Google search to find sources is easy. Often I had 6 or 7 sources. Never hurts to have more. But at least 3. Also, I used a few sources that were 3 years instead of 2 years old, just because the information was so good. But you won't have problems finding enough newer sources.

APA citations are the bane of my existence.

A student teacher graded my papers for her class and I was never dinged for having only three sources. On some of the writing assignments I used the text book as one of my three sources. And the sources do not have to be taken from scholarly journals from a database like a research paper. Most of my sources came from business periodicals like USNews or Forbes. The grading for my papers was pretty consistent but inconsistent grading has been a frequent complaint for that class. If you think something is unfair or overlooked I would ask about it. I got a score changed from a 90 to a 96 because I defended one of my papers. I used the references tool in Word to build my references.

They're called academic coaches and yeah they can be rather inconsistent with grades. Tread with caution.

Yea i got dinged for improper Reference formatting twice yet I did it the same way everytime i was confused at what my academic coach wanted. I reached out a few times to my coach and she just referred me to the professor.. so they werent much help. I referenced the textbook on everything i sent in and had 1 or 2 additional sources but never more than 3. Most of my sources were from harvard business review.

I'm in the MKT class with Dr. James. I've only taken one Chapter quiz but I actually thought it was difficult. Scored an 87 but the conceptual questions were very difficult for me to address. I'm hoping it is just the rust on a 13 year break from school. I studied way too hard on relatively easy material for an 87.

First week of MKT701 with Dr. James and man its a lot of busy work. Don't know if taking it as my first class of the MBA was a good decision. Quizzes are pretty tough and cases + forum discussions look like time consumers. Any tips on surviving this class

I did mkt 701 and MADM 760 in the same module when I first started. Made a B in both. Had zero life outside of work and school for 7 weeks. Stick with it.

I have this class now as well. Took my "syllabus quiz" yesterday.

Sorry, didn't keep anything for ECON, it was fairly straight forward, open video in one tab and quiz in another and do them at the same time those should all be easy 100's same thing with the mid module checkpoint because you get two attempts and questions are the same both times. Make sure you can answer the practice questions and explain why and how you got your answer and you should be fine on weekly quizzes.

I am in Finance 701 with Vines and have a quick question.
The Test 1 reading guide states that test 1 will cover Chapters 1,2,3,4,6, & 13. However the reading guide only directs us to do practice questions in chapter 4 and chapter 6. So is this test really only going to cover chapter 4 & 6 or all. Anyone with history in his class help would be greatly appreciated. I am confused on what to prepare for with Test 1. Thanks in advance!

Overall 701 with Williams isn't as bad as I thought originally. Guys who have taken her before, she hasn't stated anything about an exam nor does it count it in the possible points. Is this going to come from left field in a few weeks or do you think she switches her routine from session to session?

Focus on chapters 4 and 6 extensively. Don't neglect the other chapters, but focus on the chapters with the practice problems.

So I came across an ad for the LSUS MBA program and decided to look into it. Not a day later, yesterday, I stubbled upon this thread and have read through every page now and jotted some notes regarding your opinions. I appreciate the input that all of you have provided.
This whole MBA idea is only a couple days old in my mind, but my biggest worry with this program is all of the busy work that you mention many of the courses have. I have a math/statistics oriented brain. The courses like ISDS and FIN don't worry me as much as say the MADM classes that require extensive reading and writing. I'm not afraid of the work; rather it's just not my favorite part of education, nor my specialty. Also, I have a BBA and 9 years experience so I shouldn't have to take the BADM 700/701 classes, although that hasn't been confirmed by LSUS.
I'm deciding between starting Spring AP2 and taking 1 class to get my feet wet or just waiting until Summer AP2 to go full swing. I'm also going to have to take off Summer AP1 because I'll be out of town the first week and a half of that session.
Any general advice toward my situation? Are others of you math oriented? If so, which courses would you recommend first, paired, solo, etc.? Again, thanks for everyone's input so far.

How long did they usually take on providing a grade from your previous module? It's Wednesday and still no grade on module one writing assignment.
