Where do people go for finding candidates in finance these days?
I'm not talking head hunters.
Looking for entry level to mid level management positions.

As a finance candidate, I searched linkedin (typically bigger companies), indeed, and recruiters.
Got my current job through indeed via a recruiter.

I use a service similar to zip recruiter and it blasts it all over and usually get tons of subpar candidates mixed in with a few decent ones. LinkedIn has gotten me much higher quality candidates but is fairly expensive.

Our HR Dept does indeed and LinkedIn.
Having hell finding qualified applicants in finance and accounting experience in BR area.
I'm reading the other thread about an accounting applicant in Nashville struggling to find a job. I can't even get resumes worth bringing in to interview.

Pay may be too low or your experience requirements too high. Have you evaluated the compensation compared to market?

We generally hit up the placement centers at the stronger universities in our service areas...of course, these generally provide nothing but entry level candidates. We have had very good luck in hiring engineers as well as financial people by doing this.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like you are searching for young professionals with a couple years experience? I graduated pretty recently in finance at LSU, and its just so tough to stay in BR. There are so few good finance jobs in BR compared to New York, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, and even New Orleans. If you look at the top 20% or so from my graduating class, I might have been the only one to stay in BR, and I have no doubt I could have gotten a better job in another city if I were willing to move.

Salary isn't posted with job.

Well, if I already have a job, I'm not going to apply to a job unless I know it's a step up in compensation.

Application asks current salary. I would definitely apply for a job that is a step up in responsibilities and title, post my current salary, and assume they know I'm looking for a step up in compensation. I think that's pretty common. I'm not wasting an applicant's time or mine knowing we won't meet on salary. We're competitive in salary.
That's not the issue. It's a well known company that one would assume is offering competitive salary. The problem is even getting qualified applicants.

We did this. It worked. We were able to fill our entry level job and an intern. We still struggle to find mid level management or the 3-8 year applicant.

An issue for me. Why would I want to give you information on what I make? I get it, most people just fill it out with no thought, and I have in the past. But knowing what I know now, I'm not wanting to willing turn that information over.

Yeah I'd highly recommend putting "desired salary" rather than "current salary." You get essentially the same information with more honesty and less distrust of the posted job. If I'm earning 60 and would only leave my job for 75, which would be more useful to the job poster? A current salary of 60 or a desired of 75?
Entry level people are going to be easy to get at pretty much whatever you offer. Someone with a decent job isn't going to bother applying unless you can offer something more in compensation and culture. Their current salary is none of your business and gives an impression of a company that is overplaying its hand. You need to appeal to deisirable candidates.
Just my opinion, I'm a career newbie, just what I've gathered from talking to peers.

I get it.
It's a two way street though. I'm not exactly trying to show my hand either. And what we're willing to pay is completely DOE. I think it's pretty reasonable to understand the median range of a position in the BR market for finance and accounting in the entry to mid level positions. We can go up or down depending on the position anywhere from 10-15k.
I can't argue that our thought process is correct due to the lack of qualified applicants . That's just my logic.
And I also don't care if the applicant fills out current salary either. Your resume gets you in the door.
