It should post in a day or two if you're a prior card holder.

Got the Barclay arrival plus and have already made it through the 3k for 40k points goal.
Thinking about getting the next card now and rolling with the chase Ink card. Moving across the country in a week so I'll be using the card a lot on hotels and gas. If there's another card you guys would recommend for me what would it be and why?

I need to get my hands on that AMEX 100k offer. Ha

Do you already have the sapphire preferred?
Just wait a while. If you have no other AmEx cards, AmEx will target you with that offer soon enough.

Nope. Just the Barclays now.
Figured I could capitalize on the ink's 5x points at office stores and just buy gas cards for the move.

Good idea. Imo you should go for both Sapphire and Ink. Doesn't matter which one you get first, but if you have use for the Ink now, then that one first obviously.
Here is an offer for 60K with my referral if you'd care to click through here Chase Ink

What's so great about the sapphire? I get 2.1 points for every dollar with the arrival.
Also, I should add that I'm military so I get the annual fee waived.

NICE! (on getting AF waived).
Sapphire is 59K points after meeting min spend + adding AU. Free first year. 2x on travel and dining. Free primary rental car insurance, and best travel insurance. I value each chase point at at least 2 cents per point, so you are actually getting 4% (at least) compared to 2.1% on Arrival+. This is keeping in mind ofcourse that you would use points to transfer out to travel partners (amazing value). If not then they are worth 2.5% for using on travel directly through the chase portal (terrible valie).
For your current situation I have to say Ink is better. Get the sapphire next.

I don't have a "business"
Is that card only for business owners?

Absolutely not. You could be thinking of starting a business. Or you may have already sold something on amazon/ebay etc and be in the retail business (*wink*). Use your SSN in place of your EIN. I have multiple business cards and no business per say.

Last question I think.
Does it make sense front wife to get this next card in her name to help build her credit? I already have a 798 Fico score and hers isn't quite that high.

Has she had another card in the past? If yes - no doubt about it. If she hasn't, might be hard to get it as her first card. I would start with the Chase Freedom.
This is the old chase freedom, which imo has better earning power if you are able to maximize 5x categories. Only way to get these is through referral links like the one above, if I am not mistaken as Chase no longer issues these cards publically.
If you don't think you are able to maximize the 5x categories, then go for the Chase Freedom Unlimited. This one is 1.5x everywhere.

Had a shite card through Whitney. Hasn't used it since I got my card.
Posted on 5/31/16 at 2:36 pm to Drew Orleans
That works
Also - what I would do is you get the card and add her as an authorized user. She will then "piggy back" on your credit and her credit score will go way up as well. There is literally no downsides to this. If you trust her ( ) you can let her have the physical card. If you don't then just keep it or cut it up. Regardless, as soon as you add her as an AU, her credit will go up thanks to yours.
Keeping that in mind, not to overkill or confuse you, she could be a second points-earning weapon and y'all could both get cards to earn points. In fact, you could get the card first then refer her to one and cash in on another 10K points for yourself when she gets approved. As long as you can meet min spends ofcourse.

We are pretty frugal, to an extent, right now so both getting one would be a big much.
If it doesn't matter who has the card and her credit will go up as soon as I make her and AU then screw it, I'll just handle it.
Just need to get my hands on it before I move in a week.

Fair enough.
Apply for it. Once approved, call in and say you would like to have it expedited. If not approved, let me know what message you get and I can help you handle it from there. Good luck.

The INK is basically a better version of the CSP right? Thinking of picking that up here soon but not positive
Also, any hotel card worth looking into?

Depends on your usage. Are you trying to manufacture chase points? Do you spend a lot of office supply stores? Basically Ink is a powerful point manufacturer if you're into that. If not then Ink if you spend a lot on office supplies, gas and csp for dining and travel. If you already have one, no reason not to get the other.

Didn't realize you had to spend 5k to get 60k. That's a bit steeper than the arrival at 3k.
