There really are some nice plays in the bank account loading game.
Just tried to set cash advance limits on Citi cards to zero using chat. They told me minimum was $750...I think I'll have to call in for that. Dumb.
I did get another Alaska personal and biz card in the mail last week which gets me to 100k for Emirates first to Asia through DXB. 2 personal and 2 biz 93 days apart. Still have to get my wife 50k more points. No idea where I'm going, but I got em. Apply for them on the same day and only get 1 CC pull for both.

I had to go incognito on my Chrome browser to get past the "pick your state" thing at the beginning.
Had another couple hiccups as I was going through the app that made me restart twice but I'm through.
Downloaded the CC authorization and will fax that in or whatever

Yep. Got it on both personal cards too. Made $50 and got 50k alaska miles. Nice deal.

Very nice. Yeah I ran incognito mode through to see the process and had no issue either.
Think I might have to get the wife a new bank account too. 130k AA miles for $60 on soft pulls. Yes please.
I didn't do it tonight and not sitting down at the computer, but will in the AM.

I used a fax app on my phone.
It sounds like it takes a day or so for them to process the checking account and then they will run the CC the next day. It also sounds like they won't tell you they have run the CC, you just got to keep checking your CC online account.
Just waiting and hoping it doesn't become a hassle.
I did every thing late Friday so I gues Tuesday or Wednesday should be the day.

Our upgrades to 1st class went through for the MSY to LAX portion of the honeymoon itinerary. Just hoping for ORD to MSY that is left.

So help me understand this.. you open a checking account, use your Citi AA Plat to fund the account ($1,000 minimum). Then set up a couple auto draft bill pays and after 60 days, boom 50k miles?

It's the reason we got the cards was to go to stay in the over water in Bora Bora. It's ridiculous if they don't put any rooms on there anymore.

Yeah, that really sucks. They used to always open up at least 2-4 rooms per night. It looks like they nixed that all together and now just base it on demand.

When my original booking was royally messed up by United, I got a little heated after 10 hours on the phone and sent some scathing emails to execs. They gave me the ability to request 1st class on my domestic segments due to that. So not a regular feature. I feel a little guilty about complaining now, but it was awful.
I do believe there is a way to do it though, read an article, let me find a link.

Can you tell me how your account went active. I applied Friday and got approved, but didn't receive any emails or anything. Called yesterday and its still "processing." Looks like I can log in right now and its basically just blank asking to link my ATM/Debit card, so I guess I'm still hung up there.

That's a fairly easy method and a good start.
I still use it periodically to hit minimum spends.
It offers you the ability to hit $5k spend a month. If you have a Chase Ink card, Staples $200 gift cards are worth considering.
Visa Buxx. Google 'Visa Buxx Flyertalk'. That is another option for MS. If you have questions after reading through that, ask away. It's fairly straight forward.
