With the new automatic passport control GOES will be somewhat less useful.
I sure hope GE becomes less useful. Its ridiculous how bad US Customs is. I'd gladly accept not needing GE.
They are also starting to preclear folks at foreign airports now too.
I compare this to Amsterdam customs. Wife and I walk up on a 8 hour stopover there.
"Hello"
"Hello"
"Why are you visiting the Netherlands?"
"We just want to look around for a few hours."
STAMP
THANKS!
I did get randomly selected for extra security in Frankfurt though. Their Gestapo past had me worried a little.

Took me ~30min to get through regular security/customs at jfk a couple weeks back (I have GE but my gf doesn't).
Do your kids have it? You gonna make them go through regular while you speed through?
Customs can be a mixed bag. I had to shuffle through Houston in a big line. I can't recall how long it took, but it sucked. Some airports like MIA are notoriously long.
The impetus for getting it myself was I hate lines, I didn't have a GE office near me until November, and my initial itinerary on my honeymoon trip had a very tight connection that GE would make not stressful at all.
I don't have kids, but you listed companions. And yes, I would leave any companions behind, especially since I told them to get it. I'm not letting them sandbag me.

Customs wasn't bad at all in ATL

Sometimes it isn't. Sometimes it's a Katrina evacuation center. For $25 (Precheck being $75) or for free (Credit card benefit) you don't ever have to worry about it.
It's not even a debate

Global entry is the way to go. For an extra $25 you get international clearance as well as precheck.

I already have TSA Pre - If I would have thought about it I would have got GE but oh well

How do you all approach having multiple lines of credit approximately 9?
I am young, 24, 20th a credit history of about 4 years. My first credit card I opened with capital one when I was at LSU. I never closed this card since it was my first. I now use the chase sapphire for all purchases and pay it off in full each month. I have a credit score between 750-775 which I believe to be very good.
I am displeased with the rewards points I have earned through my chase card. I travel a lot for work and generally I stay with IHG hotels unless they're not available. I want to apply for the IHG Hotels rewards card through chase and possibly another credit card for cash back rewards.
My question is how many credit cards is too many? I don't want to close my oldest line of credit (capital one). A few years ago my uncle told me he would make big purchases from retailers on their credit card then throw that card in the dresser drawer and not touch it again.. is this an okay strategy with minimal negative affects?
TIA

You can keep them all open. That's about the number I have. Make sure you downgrade to the ones with annual fees to ones that don't have annual fees and use them once a year or so.

Okay cool, that is the biggest hit on my credit reports (open lines of credit) but I understand that has "minimal" effects on my score.
I currently have a capital one, chase sapphire, lane furniture, and home Depot CC. And like stated above the only one I use is my chase card. What I want to do is get the IHG rewards club select CC to use for all my hotel reservations and a better rewards CC from chase for all other purchases.

Bacon, I have an offer for an AMEX platinum, today is the last day to sign up. Not sure if I want to stomach the $450 fee. I have the delta platinum. Can't decide, it has 100K points bonus.

When I stop travel in gas much as I do for work I will cancel my DL Reserve and open the Amex Plat. That 100k sign up bonus is legit but it would be tough for me to spend 10k in 90 days

You're leaving points on the table if you don't have a CSP and the Freedom. Use the freedom for 5x categories and the Chase website will let you move those "cash back points" to CSP so they become full Chase UR points.

As soon as I am done with this Biz Amex and I get my 60k sky miles and 10k mqm's I'll be moving on to the CSP again

I have the chase sapphire not the preferred. I'm not sure I like the chase freedom. I can only see myself spending at grocery stores, restaurants, and amazon. I haven't done the math but I'm not sure the return would be worth it for me. I'll have to look in to it
ETA: I reckon I looked over the last of your post. Would I be able to transfer points from a chase freedom/ chase ihg club rewards to either/or account?
The only thing I don't like about IHG is I can only earn 100,000 points per year. I already have earned 90,000 points in 3 months and that's without a card. An upscale hotel is 45,000/night. So the greatest earning potential I have is 2 free nights at an upscale hotel and then I must start my points over. I don't understand that at all.

Worth it? It has no annual fee

It's only requiring 3K in 90 days spending. Makes it real tempting.

Ohhhhh, no wonder you don't like it.
That card without a premium Chase card like Ink Plus/CSP isn't worth much. The value of UR points is transferring to Airlines and Hotels, not cash back.
Just google some credit card blogs and learn some things. Decide if you want to play the game or make it simple and go with cash back.
To effectively use points you have to learn the individual programs, how easy it is to earn points, what they may be actually "worth," etc. Takes a little individual homework on one's own part.

I have the gold 60k for 1k spend coming my way next week. There's a good chance I'm going west coast twice next year for stuff.
Figured why the hell not ya know? Will be good for even more weddings. Hard to pass up $600.
I don't know if I should be happy or not everybody waited til 30ish to get married. I have the resources to attend, but something tells me if they had done it at 25 I wouldn't be flying all over the country to attend.
Company you keep I suppose.

Just got the Freedom on your advice. I already have a CSP so they should work well together.
Is there any chance of getting the CSP annual fee waved or do they not budge on that?

You don't drive a car? It has 5X on gas 2X a year.
