Commonly heard by LSU recruiters to preferred prospects: "You can WIN WITH us, or LOSE TO us.

quote:

"It's probably the only time in my life I was intimidated by the crowd," Lott said. "A lot of great players have played in that stadium, but I don't know if any team has walked into that stadium and dealt with what we went through. From the time we landed to the time we left, I don't know if a team has ever gone through that."

"Every one of us left that night saying 'that was a game,' but I still think about it that way," he said. "I haven't been in an event like that at any level of football. Out of all the games I've ever played in, I've never been in anything like that, and I am including my Super Bowls in that assessment

that is a great story

In full:

"There was misinformation on ESPN and I think imperative that I straighten it out, I am the head coach at LSU, I will be the head coach at LSU, I have no interest in talking to anybody else, I've got a championship game to play, and I'm excited about the opportunity of my damn strong football team to play it. It was unfortunate that I had to address my team with this information this morning, but that being done I think we'll be ready to play. I represent me in this issue. Please ask me after. I'm busy. Thank you very much. Have a great day."

I think he had one about Jason White where he said something like "we'll be sacking you today Mr. Heisman"

"We came out a little laxative in the second half..." Rondell Mealey (I believe it was RM but I could be wrong.)

No the quote I am talking about went something like this:
Reporter: growing up in New Orleans with Eli Manning did you ever play with him.
Hill: no, me and my friends use to stand outside the fence (at Newman) and watch them play hoping that they would invite us to play with them, but they never did..... Well today he has got to play with me.

"I think the turning point in the game was when we lined it up and kicked it off," said Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson. "We got outplayed. We got outcoached. It was a good beating."

EDSDB description of Tiger Stadium on Saturday night:
quote:

"That voodoo’s real. When the “Four Corners Salute” gets cranking, it’s like listening to a 747 made entirely of fired clay crashing into a field of shattered glass. Getting a snap off effectively is in itself a game ball-worthy achievement. Combined with the orgy going on outside the stadium for five miles in any direction, it’s the gold standard for any other college gameday experience. Any of them. It is peerless in terms of demonstrated intensity, lunacy, commitment, flair, and menace. At several points in the day, we were convinced we were going to be killed, injected with creole butter, and thrown in a deep fryer…but only in the most festive and accommodating of ways, of course."

"If Notre Dame is No. 1, LSU is No. 1A" -- South Bend, Indiana headlines the morning after ND beat LSU 6-3 in a game that LSU missed 2 field goals...a hard-fought defensive battle from 1970 or so.
