Why don't you list BA's recruits.

Let me take a shot at this ShortyRob, you know nothing of recruiting at the time at all?

prplhze2000 I have listed the recruits before and like I posted Mike was his recruiter, Bill HATED to recruit.

I have also posted the starters from all of Bill's and Archer's teams.

Even Archers team of 87 has many starters and 2nd team from Jerry's recruits.

Hallman was terribly bad; but, he did elevate the talent level at LSU. Archer was absolutely the worst at recruiting and Hallman inherited a bare cupboard. At least DiNardo inherited a team with some talent.

I didn't read all of this thread, but I was at LSU during the '90s and I can tell you that we were an absolute doormat. I remember at one particularly low point, they started some shite called "Curley's Corner" and were selling game tickets for $5 apiece...

just a terrible time in tiger football history.

The pinnacle of the Curley Hallman era. Unfortunately it was his 1st day on the job.

Yeah I remember those games. I will never forget the thud sound the kicker made when he kicked winning field goal in the rain. For some reason that remains a vivid memory of my time going to LSU football games.

started LSU in 1992 and although we were bad, LSU football games were EPIC. We partied like it was our job and visiting fans were amazed at how little the game outcome effected our mood and the mood at the bars afterwards. I'm pretty sure I snuck in more bourbon during that one season than kids do over 4 years now.

I wish LSU fans could remember how much fun football used to be.

Me too. I started at that time and I do remember having fun before the games and after. Of course it was more fun after a win.

Hallman was a good recruiter though. He ended up having a lot of guys play in the NFL.

I did feel bad for him that last season. His wife left him, though Curley was a fool for that. Dale was a very pretty woman and he had two daughters. I had heard the stories, and yes he was the football coach he wasn't very charming. His tv show, radio show, and press conferences were disaster in that he was way too country.

Dude, Dinardo sucked. Sure, he was an improvement on Curley, but it was Saban who did it. Saban, and only Saban. You can admit it; it won't diminish you.

nope, I never liked DiNardo but he at least got some of the good recruits that had been defecting and left Satan something to work with, form Arnsparger thru Hallman we pretty much didn't recruit

To this day, I hate Brett Favre for making Curley Hallman look like a coach.

With you on that 100%!! Brett was the only reason to explain how Hallman had any success, because we sure as hell know he couldn't coach!!
I still have nightmares thinking about the Curley Hallman years!!

I was there in the same awful period in LSU football '90-'94. Don't forget the loss to Colorado St. in '92.

How horrible was Curley? His teams were never above .500 at any point during any of his 4 seasons. Also, his 2nd season was the worst finish ever by LSU, 2-9!
