I agree. Who wants a talented player to come to LSU.

Note: Anything that is over 2 hours old has more than likely already been posted on Tigerdroppings.

Not really. He is much better going to one of the other 13 SEC schools.

Sentimentality is a very slippery slope.

I don't want him to take a roster spot just because he is Shaq's son.

However, if he is good enough and can contribute, then sign him up.

I would dread the idea of LSU's most iconic alum sending his talented son to play basketball for LSU. The media attention and notoriety really pisses me off!!!

exactly. That's one the reasons Billy Cannon, Jr., who was an absolute stud, went to A&M (back when they were in the Southwest Conference).

I often wonder why Eli Manning went to Ole Miss with Archie's huge legacy there. Nearly impossible to live up to those expectations, but he did very well.

But I think that was primarily because David Cutcliffe was coach at Ole Miss, who was also Peyton's OC at Tennessee.

But you want the kid who's confident enough to follow in his legendary dad's footsteps.

If he's good enough to play at the SEC level. I am not a fan of signing kids based soley on who their parents are. Shaq does enough for the school, getting his kid here is not going to help recruiting or anything like that.

He already had an offer from USC as a freshman

So he's likely going to be very, very highly recruited
