I would love nothing more that to see them both back next year.

Why would someone who was a #1 option, who came here to prove herself at a new position, then take a backseat to a guard of the same build, who can already play the position, in their last year? That makes no sense. I said HVL should leave. I didn't say to the WNBA though.

First, Hailey must realize she is never going to be a PG. She doesn't dribble well enough, have never seen her drive to the basket, etc. So the answer is she made a mistake thinking she could translate her game to being a PG. As far as going WNBA goes, I do agree with you. She isn't going to make it into the pros unless she gets better. She is a bulldog defensively but a fast guard can still drive around her. I refer you to the first half of the Middle Tennessee State game.

I don't agree with this statement for the fact that she was never supposed to play as much as did this year and grew by leaps and bounds and you can see she's going to be really good, its just cleaning up some things.

By "cleaning up some things", you mean like developing an offensive game...she has none at this point. She is too slow to be a really good player. Is "cleaning up some things" becoming quicker also?

I was much more disappointed in Mikaylah. Around the start of SEC play with the game against Ole Miss, she stopped working for her shots in the offense and only working for what the offense gave her, she has to be willing to cut and move without the ball

I will agree with you here. While Van Lith for example might make mistakes, you could at least call her "active'. Half the time, I didn't know that Mikaylah was even on the court. Talk about disappearing for stretches!

I’m so tired of hearing about her position change. If you can ball you can ball it doesn’t matter.

Would Clark be less efficient as a 1,2 or 3?

Did James harden become worse from going to sg to pg?

She wasn’t good this year. She shot poorly and made terrible decisions with the ball.

Her best bet is to come back to school, she has no future in the wnba

The traditional wisdom is that when a good shooter starts clanging it off the front of the rim it's a fatigue issue. The longer season along with a seemingly signicant weight gain wore her down. But she's going to be a superstar. She has an actual off-the-dribble jumpshot that has never been the norm in WBB. Even Clark has that two'handed push shot.

I think Angel is 100% done with playing school and will head to the league. HVL she should stay unless she's just done with school too

I agree about your WNBA statement but to act like generational players can do something that Van Lith should be able to do, that is hilarious. Name one poster on here that would put Van Lith in the CC category as a basketball player. There is a reason that a coach doesn't say "Ok, player A, I know you are a center normally but you're the point guard today." That is utter nonsense to act like players' talents aren't meant to play certain positions. Your example of a great WBB player and a great NBA player are irrelevant to Van Lith who at most is a good college player

I hope HVL stays. She works hard. Harder than most. I think the season wore her down, her decline in shooting percentage is evident of this.

Our lack of depth hurt more than people want to admit.

I would of course love to see Angel back next season, she plays hard and to be honest she has areas she could improve on with another season of college ball.

HVL, I like her and would like to see her back, but that seems a little more problematic. Where is she gonna play. They simply cannot repeat this season’s experience with her at point next year. A freshman phenom is coming in. May or may not work out but we know HVL is not the answer at point. And I sure wouldn’t start her over Flauje or Morrow or even Mikayla Williams. If she would be willing to accept a non-starting role I would love to see her back. I do like her tenacious approach to the game.

I agree with this. She has the best all around game on the team, but she needs to get in shape. She also has the prettiest shot in women's basketball.

It was wayyyy before MTSU, it was the first game of the season and on. Sherrod at Colorado put it on display night 1. Auburn really took advantage of it in the first game. Any team that had a lead guard with speed, let them attack her 1 on 1 because everyone knew the scout.

Funny enough, I thought she had her best game of pure PG this whole season in the Sweet 16 game against UCLA. Good on the defensive end, good entry passes, opportunistic on offense but not forcing it. Numbers were nothing to look at, but impact on the offense running clean and smooth and pressure across the timeline, was exactly what Mulkey wanted.

I've said it her before, her best result in the league is that 6th woman, spark plug off someone's bench for her offense, but its just a fact she's a liability on defense and its not due to effort.

No, when she slowed down and actually worked back to the basket, it was there but there were very few stretches this year she was a focus and did that. Most of her minutes were to come in, rebound and try to put it back because of all the in close misses by the other bigs.

She needs to 1, learn she doesn't need to block everything and sometimes can just make people shoot over her. 2 is to understand her body and how she's going to get called and learn to play with timing with her reach rather than at the apex. That's most of her fouls.

Offensively, she is a better shooter than what Reese was in the midrange and 3 and never got to show it. I think they need to work to develop it so she can use it, she has time on this now with Jersey coming, cause that's what she does.

Lastly, boxing out, she doesn't. She tries to out height folks to boards, works a lot but another big part of her foul trouble.

Smith being back next year helps ALL of this because her game compliments both Del Rosario and Morrow's better that Reese. You could see it in the games Reese missed.

Jump shot isn't the issue at all. I figured she'd struggle down the end of the year and kind of repeat Flau'jae's sequence at the end of the year last year. Difference is, Mikaylah is already elite, but her work rate isn't and that's a want thing, not a talent thing. Talent is there, but you can't go down and be lost on defense, LSU hardly swtiched everything at any point this year, yet she was constantly lost in transition defense. Let's not forget she didn't get out to Bree Hall on the corner 3 in the SC game at home, that shot won the game.

I saw way to much of her being late, lost or altogether giving a deep shot that I can't say it was all fatigue. For her to get to her potential which is AA, POY, #1 pick, she's gotta want the smoke on offense and defense.

Clark left her looking like she was just standing there. A weak screen against her led to easy points over and over.
