Saban's first 3 lsu teams were stacked with future nfl players
And he had
4 losses (2000)
3 losses (2001)
5 losses (2002)
1 loss (2003)
3 losses (2004)
Stop acting like Miles walked into a program that wasnt losing a bunch of games every year.

The only disappointment I see from the names that's been mentioned is. that would IMO even include Steele although in itself would be sad too but thinking he's no longer a candidate so no worry there although I could be wrong. it has happened before albeit rarely. get it right please make me please don't make me

If he screws up the DC hire, will they finally turn on him?
I've defended Les Miles to no end on here for ten years.
If he hires Mike Stoops, it will be the straw that broke the camel's back, along with the frustrating, shitty offense, this ridiculous "tailback by committee" where your best back gets benched right when he's ready to take the game over, etc. etc.
I haven't worn rose-colored glasses. I've been frustrated at times, but I still thought, overall, it was better not to make a change.
Alleva would play a part in a Stoops hire, no doubt, but you'd hold both the HC and AD accountable for bringing us back to the Joe Dean days of "good ole boy" hires.
So if he hires Mike Stoops, I, a pro-Miles guy, will then make FatBastard, Monsterballads, TgrLee, TigerInAtl, Peej,ICanSeeForMiles and that bunch ...
look like Beefense and Choctaw.
I will officially be off the Miles bandwagon.

Will negatigers start liking miles if he nails the hire?

I hadn't read the whole thread, but I'm sure what in about to say has already been said, though worded a little differently. First off, I am the quintessential Positiger. I love me some Les Miles - quirky uniforms and questionable eating habits and all. I'll turn on Les Miles.....just about the time he fields a team that isn't competitive, that's routinely not in the conf championship picture by around mid October, that loses as many players to the jail house as they do the draft, and MOST importantly, I'll turn on Miles - even to the point of wanting him fired - the first time he takes this program into an off season in which I have zero championship expectations the following year.
Going into next year, I see likely the best, and for as as good as anyone else's - running backs and receivers. Even w/the departure of Collins, if say our defensive backfield is of a similar caliber. In the trenches, we return plenty enough beef, experience, and talent to play championship ball. Losing Kwon hurts the LB corp, but Beckwiths late season emergence gives me hope there. News flash.....we need better QB play.
I LOVED Chief. What little success this team had last year rests squarely on his shoulders......as do the bulk of the most painful losses that I can remember (Bama x 2, Georgia arguably, Clemson - pretty much every close loss where the offense gave him a lead, and HIS defense let'em off the hook).
Coach Miles has some work to do, and some changes to make....hell, we all do. And I'll not turn on him until he's guiding a program that gives me no hope of winning a conf championship.

Is it about the hire or is it about winning and losing? Another way of asking: will you be making that judgement before next season or after next season?

If Miles made bad hire then he is putting the program at risk and the direction of the program is going in the wrong direction.
This is one of those decisions that effects the future of the entire program. IF he screws this up than his seat should get hot.

I will be made if the hire is a bad one, I will give props if I am wrong and the "bad hire" has a good year.

What the hell does this even mean?
Do you mean if Miles hires someone that the dumb jackasses on this board disagree with because they know so much about everything football related?

I'm lost on the Stoops hate. Other than this year, why do people hate in him? At one point, he was good enough a coordinator to land a Pac-10 head coaching job. That may have not gone great, but good enough to last 5 years at a school.
He had a terrible year in 14....I get that. But that totally discredits any good year he's ever had? Does anyone know WHY OU was bad this year? Anyone know anything about OUs roster this past year? I'm not defending anyone because I haven't done research yet.

You're joking, right?

This is obvious a jab at how many carries Fournette got last game. Does it not make any difference that your best RB was hurt? Ankle and shoulder.
Do you run your car with a lack of oil? If you don't, why not?

You didn't answer the question: will you be making your assessment before or after the season?

Les Miles has done a lot for TigerNation, including a NC. His players love him and always play their hearts out for him. Most fans feel the same. I know I do. Regarding the DC hire, IMO eventually LSU would have had to do something. John Chavis may be a defensive wizard but the fact remains he could not stop Bama in clutch situations. The last Bama-LSU is an example. There are other examples, most too painful to recall.
Having said that I believe LSU will be just fine. LSU has great fans, great tradition, outstanding facilities including an amazing renovated stadium, and a great coaching staff. IMO this Chavis thing is just a bump in the road.
So again with feeling. Thanks LSU Coaches, Players and the Tiger Band for another great season of memories. [How about that bulldozer run by Fournette in the A&M game? Wow!]
Love me some Tigahs!
Until next season contemplate this......

So basically what you are saying is if you don't get YOUR way in these hires you are going to act like a spoiled three year old? Your revenge will be to clutter up this site with even more juvenile garbage?
Why wait? You have already proved that you have no brain. Join the rest of the children in the sandbox. Just be careful with all that sand close to your vag.

This is where it becomes obvious that some are pro-Miles and not LSU. I'm pretty sure there was a huge outcry over co-defensive coordinators
Check - negatigers
I'm just as assured that we were anti-Stud as OC
Another check for the negas
Then we bring back BDP, and become the only team that I've ever seen have to call a TO following halftime
Once again, the negas knew more than the coach
Lets not even talk about Trent Johnson
