We have finished in the top 15 4 of the last 5 years.

With our recruiting, you think top 15 is good? I think that's severe underachievement.

Coming from the guy who swears that 4-5 years of development in a college athletics program doesn't count for squat.

Didn't LSU just have the rookie of the year? So what's the problem with player development? Or did you not watch obj drop pass after pass in 2012?

Apparently he got all of his development with the Giants when he missed six weeks with a hamstring injury

anyone who thinks LSU doesn't do a great job developing players is denying reality. Just check NFL rosters. On a more subjective note, IMO finishing 4 out of 5 years in the top 15 is not a great achievement by any means for LSU football. We are in a state that produces tons of talent. We are the only in state big time university, unlike our competitors. We have a great coaching staff. We have greatly underachieved the last few years. But things are looking to be on the upswing. Two great hires. Another top notch recruiting class in the making and Miles/Cam seem to be open to making changes that will improve our offense. The coming years should be some good ones for LSU fans.

I never said that. What i said was that a freshman can come in and be more productive at QB than a senior, given the right combination of talent, coaching, and offensive scheme.

I don't mind you criticizing me. Just don't twist my words.

All these guys were FIRST YEAR STARTERS. True, some had been around awhile but none took any prior meaningful snaps. So please get off the obsession with age and instead focus on actual playing experience.

I would give the NFL coaches more of the credit for development than our coaches...at this point.

I would hope so. NCAA has heavy restrictions on practice time and contact with players in the off season. NFL is football every day all day. It is their job.

Population of other states makes this void. Enough top talent to field multiple teams that can win championships.

Like Georgia. How the eff UGA can't win is mind boggling to say the least.

Some years we play 4 teams that won a bcs title. We play the premier program in football every year. We play teams consistently ranked in the top 10 of recruiting every year.

Les has won championships in the 2 years LSU had its toughest schedules in the history of the program.

I'd like to see the likes of tOSU Oregon, FSU make it through our schedule every year unscathed. They wouldn't.

To the OP...the real underachieving coach this year was Shorty....#1 recruiting class every year...
how didhe let OSU run him off the field like that! And Les out coached him this year, but Chief let us down once again...lol...with yet another final drive ...but now that's been solved...let's see how next year goes...

Given the right combination, sure, a freshman QB could do well.

Aside from the QB, LSU's offense consisted of
WR: redshirt sophomore with 7 career catches, reshirt freshman, 2 true freshmen
RB: 2 true freshmen, 2 average seniors who had been passed on the depth chart multiple times in their career (they had been behind Blue, Hill, and finally Fournette).
TE: blockers who aren't used to being offensive weapons
FB: see TE
Offensive line: considered good, but had to learn a new scheme this year and suffered injuries at center.

What part of this makes you think a freshman can come in and lead? We knew going in it would be raw, but hoped Fournette and Dupre would emerge early. Took Fournette half a season, and Dupre never did emerge.
