Then why wouldn't you be all for looking to the future and getting somebody in a passing game coordinator/ CO OC to take over when Steve inevitably steps down. O is trying to build something here. I think it'll pay dividends in the future.

What OC worth a shite wants to come in and be some kind of protege to Steve Ensminger for an indeterminate time period in hopes of MAYBE being the main guy when he retires? I thought this whole idea of a “coach in waiting” was a relic. It’s wholly impractical

Come on man. You're better than this. Apparently somebody is ok with it because supposedly they've got somebody lined up.

Props to the OP for keeping this issue alive since the local football media won't.

It made no sense whatsoever to hire E as OC (unless there was a HR hire O was comfortable with who wasn't 'available' in '17, e.g., Freeze or Briles but since that hasn't happened . . .) AND it makes even less sense to retain him.

E IS A FAILED EXPERIMENT THAT NEEDS TO END ASAP.

The offense was a dismal, stagnant bog of underachievement under Les. Les had like 7 years of empirical evidence in hand that what he was doing on offense wasn't working. He knew.

You'd think it would be high on O's list to rectify. It's not. Rather, he's doubling-down.

I strain my brain trying to understand these decisions. The best I can come up with is that HCs who have no real intention of competing for championships maintain a weak link. So they're always in 'fixing the problem' mode that prolongs their tenure.

So when the offense slogs again, hey, O can replace E and that gave him 1-2 yrs more as HC. It worked for Les.

I never said it wasn’t happening. Just think it makes no sense. Also, I’ve never claimed to have any kind of insider knowledge so maybe you can fill me in on what you’re talking about here.

Nope, offense was ranked 8th in the sec, but 11th in the country for the 2018 season. But that national ranking was by a stupid un biased computer that takes into account the strength of opponents defenses and other ridiculous factors. The 'Massey Ratings', which is a computer ranking, also had LSU as the 7th best team in the country.

In the past 24 hours you have said Orgeron deserves a raise, Ensminger deserves a raise, and LSU was the 11th best offense in the country.

How the hell can you watch games like Southeastern and believe this? Of course, the rest of the village idiots jumped all over this.

And you wonder why you can't be taken seriously?

He doesn't have info. He's about as clueless as they come.

Have you ever seen a person think that Ensminger is beyond blame, yet he wants an Co-OC brought in?

He’s just going off the company line being regurgitated about Morton. First it was tee Martin now this. It’ll end up being a nobody who coached with O at lafourche.

But hey, he tried real hard to get someone but there just wasn’t anyone else available

I'm expecting a good hire, but just how much can a WR coach/passing game coordinator, or whatever it will be, improve the offense when they are coaching in an offense that is stuck in the 90's?

Remember when we all thought Sullivan was an amazing hire.

Somewhere in this poster's mind this is a reasonable post.

“ it worked for Les”

The difference being, Les won a national championship, took LSU to two national championship games, won the west, won the SEC, and won more games overall during his time here than any other SEC program.

I would hope so. The players desperately need continuity. The people calling for another OC are mostly ignorant. I'm hoping for a CO OC. If the name being floated around is true then LSU will be fine.

I hope that this is true. - Ben, in response to a rumor on the coaching changes board that ensminger would be stepping down and replaced by Hugh freeze.

Hey look everyone, Ben is still a lying piece of shite. SURPRISE!

Why do you feel the need to constantly lie anonymously on the Internet, Ben? Do you think it makes you cool?

I said supposedly they have somebody lined up. The key word is supposedly. I know that reading comprehension is a constant problem with certain posters. There are threads identifying John Morton as a candidate. I don't know if it's him or someone else. I never claimed to have insider knowledge either but there are a couple of threads about it.

Do you honestly think that they don't have somebody in mind?
