It makes no sense and obviously points to the deficiencies of our current coordinator. Why don’t we just hire ONE young and/or innovative coordinator who can modernize our offense and not mess with that transition nonsense you are proposing?

Already tried that with Canada, and O eliminated the pre-snap motions which pissed Canada off and led to a toxic relationship.

E will be OC for the foreseeable future (unless he steps down), and if he can’t improve the offense significantly and consistently, he will end up getting O and possibly Alleva fired (especially if Aranda leaves).

I can't believe that people actually think like this.

Defeatism is real, and it's prevalent on this board.

If you never have expectations then you can never be disappointed, but what a shitty way to go through life.

Close lol. Seriously this would be a grand slam. Just trying to work out a few details before it’s finalized. Still several coaches being considered but none have been officially hired. Orgeron feels good about it. Just gotta let it play out. These things are fluid.

Do you honestly think that coach O should replace Steve?

Not sure what this has to do with your strange assertion that I think coaches can completely change their offenses mid-game...

In any event, I wish we hadnt hired him, but that doesn’t really answer your question. I don’t have much faith that O could go out and get someone that is a clear upgrade so it makes sense at this point to just let it ride with Ensminger considering all that we have coming back and coming in on a personnel front. It’d be really nice if we could have a prolific offense one day but I think being just decent on offense will be probably good enough to have us in the playoff discussion by the end of next year considering how stout our defense is shaping up to be. We shall see.

Yes he will. Coach Slinger set records, what don't you understand about that? He and Coach O just won TEN games, think about how significant that is for a second. I trust Coach O when he says that he and Slinger will have this team in the playoffs THIS year.

Why would he not be? Because his offense stinks on ice.

Next season has the potential to be very special, but the current offensive scheme we’ve got will cost us.

I must have been a year off at USC OC. Morton then. There was a thread on him here the other day.

Morton isn’t who I heard. This was like atomic boom. Just don’t see it happening but hope I’m wrong. Would be tremendous

Ok.

Then why wouldn't you be all for looking to the future and getting somebody in a passing game coordinator/ CO OC to take over when Steve inevitably steps down. O is trying to build something here. I think it'll pay dividends in the future.

He's not trying to build, he has built. This team is absolutely loaded with talent and Coach O has circled this season on the calendar expecting a championship.

People that keep asking this question have to be the most stupid people to walk this earth. Nothing has changed nor will it change until the offense really shits the bed. Some say it already has some say different. Just a matter of perspective. You know just like opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. Get over it, you have what you have. Deal with it.

Orgeron said he hired the top OC in the country, this will not change until either Orgeron leaves or is fired or Ensminger decides to retire.

“ OC next season”

Coach O has expressed the opinion that coach E did a “great” job this year with the LSU .O. Why should anyone expect a change?

What OC worth a shite wants to come in and be some kind of protege to Steve Ensminger for an indeterminate time period in hopes of MAYBE being the main guy when he retires? I thought this whole idea of a “coach in waiting” was a relic. It’s wholly impractical.
