Why does everyone call it the "Chicken Bowl"?

Is their humor that shitty? Are they still angry at Chick Fil A's CEO for hating on the gays? Their way of protesting not being open on Sunday? Or our fan base's attempt to diminish the bowl?
We don't call the Discover Orange bowl the Credit Card Bowl, or the Outback bowl the Bloomin Onion Bowl...

Personally I don't know why anyone calls in of the bowls anything other than the bowl game. I don't care why anyone names it. Why the frick does any football game get named? LSU vs Clemson. That is what it is!

And I think fans have been calling it the chicken bowl for quite a bit longer than the whole imbroglio about gays has been an issue. Chic Fil A has sponsored the bowl for some time, but in 2006 (I think) they dropped the name "Peach Bowl" entirely... I would guess that marketing move elicited the chicken bowl response (basically, a touch of sarcasm replacing peach with chicken). Had the bowl originally been called the Chic Fil A Bowl, it may not have drawn that response.
And it still is a pretty good bowl game. Some LSU fans might be pissy about playing in that bowl now (the loud minority that thinks we have vastly superior talent and should be in the BCSCG every year)... so perhaps the chicken part picks up a note of derision on this board. I think that's the tone you're picking up on.
