Why? You don't see how these players are on a day-to-day basis. Why is it crazy to think he's been much better lately in practice and has been working his arse off enough to deserve one last shot?

(1) Bouman had a pretty good outing about 10 days ago.
(2) Mainieri is human; tried to set the kid up for a last hurrah.
The blessing in disguise is that Brain came out of the pen and looked great. We are going to need Brain and/or Godfrey to step up in the tournament.

The only thing I don't understand is why he takes pitchers out when they're pitching great. Bugg pitched 1 1/3. He looked great. He yanked him for Person. He also pitched great. He pulled him for Stallings. I know they all need work, but why fix something that's not broken. It's cost us games.

I don't think it was a terrible decision to start him, but I'd have rathered bring him out of the pen, because if he is useful, thats where it will be.

If PM was serious about Bouman being a 3rd starter, we have bigger problems than I thought. At no point this year has he looked like he could handle SEC batting. He's throwing slower than last year, less control than last year, and no second pitch. I can live with it being because he's a senior. At least then I know PM doesn't actually think he's good and won't use him moving forward.

If that's the case, then I hope it's because he's a senior, too.
I would hate for you to lose your faith in PM this late in the season.

How many championships have you won?

You have convinced us. Unintended consequences of opening mouth with foolish crap.

We've lost 7 9th innings leads in 7 weeks... that's how it's working.
That is... Worrisome.

Because bouman promised Manierie a national championship this year if he started him on senior day

My guess is to see if he could snap him into a 5 inning starter. Postseason trial. However, I haven't seen enough out of him to think starter. I would've liked to see him try Godfrey again as a SP for the postseason.
