John Ferguson, recent past died. His co- was Walter Hill.

Best ever. What a voice Mr. Ferguson had. WWII hero as well

Not sure who came before John Ferguson. It might have been J.C. Politz, who called Billy Cannon's famous 1959 punt return vs. Ole Miss.
But Ferguson had one of the best voices in the nation at the time, and maybe ever. He also called SEC basketball games in the 70s, as well as Saints games....

Ferguson was the voice of my childhood listening to LSU games. Might as well have been the voice of God back then.
