Flat out not true. I know for a fact that he's your typical liberal academic from multiple conversations with him. He will be at the top of Hillary Clinton's list to be Secretary of Education when she wins. I also know that I had to give him directions to the student union one day (after he had been at LSU for over a year). He's a disconnected academic liberal who is out of his comfort zone at LSU.
and don't forget, the timing of him stepping off into this just after electing a Dem governor is probably not coincidental.

Both new gov and old gov probably only chimed in publicly AFTER they knew what Alexander was doing (or had done on Wed?). Don't care what side of the aisle, politicians always try to end up on the side of the winner.

Who the F is King Alexander....
A left-wing political hack who places his own bullshite political agenda ahead of the best interests of the football program and university.

He can't be fired soon enough.

Alexander is now the face of #NextyearU.

If he let the media let him make an emotional decision like that, I wonder how he would react to a strong social media movement.

The most realistic fans who want to win Championships with top 5 talent were overlooked in the end and slapped in the face. Changes need to be made starting at the top. First loss next will be an even bigger mess than the media turned this into.

Hum it would be the person that has to explain to the Louisiana legislature why $17mil can be had to buy out a coach and not for the school endowment and need more from the taxpayers? You people are dumb.

Since you are not dumb, can you point out the connection between the school endowment and Miles's buyout?

You realize why he went public with the "Bankruptcy" line, right? The preliminary budget was back, and the legislature and the 4th floor were going to move through the session with "business as usual" and just streamline cuts to higher ed as they had done 6 out of the 7 previous years.

He publicly embarrassed them...forcing them to restructure the budget. And look what happened, LSU didn't have to deal with any significant cuts.

Everyone knows this and knows that donor's can give their money to whatever they prioritized, but the question would still remain that if LSU can come up with $15 million in 5 days, then surely it could come up with $X to offset the budget issues.

Remember. Fundraising still falls under his office.

No I'm not dumb I graduated with honors granted not from LSU since I joined the USAF out of high school since I couldn't afford to got to LSU. Your just sadly misinformed on the ways state money works and school accreditation's work if you don't think that the flow of those kinds of dollars don't get lots of attention.

I guess this is only a problem because we are a state full of idiots who don't realize that you need to spend money to make money.
