Because it's mean (read: part of the game) when a pitcher throws a 95 mph hardball in the direction of where your brain resides. It's not all cotton candy, peanuts, and Skip Bertman's autograph on a program. The game can get nasty, especially amongst rivals in an extremely tense regional.
He did it intentionally.

So you think that he went up to that at bat intending to swing at a strike, but miss it on purpose and then let his bat fly into the dugout?

Was it Pontif and does anyone have the clip of it?
It started with Matt rounding third, it continued with the pitch being thrown at Wally's head, it concluded with Aaron letting his bat go toward the USL dugout.

Absolutely the game can be intense, especially among heated rivals. It's VERY rare that you see a 95 mph fastball thrown intentionally at someone's head. At their leg, midsection, or over their head yes, but never directly at their head. And I've never seen a bat thrown intentionally into the dugout.

What year did USL get in that fight with Clemson at the CWS? I wanna say it was around 2001 or 2002. If it was largely the same team, then I wouldn't have a lot of trouble believing they instigated the whole affair.

That's exactly what I saw.

Some of you people would argue with your shadow if you thought it said something ill about an LSU player :bang head:
You can 100% to let go of your bat and have it fly in the dugout. Maybe he meant to throw it over there as a message and not make it in the dugout, but the inexact science of bat throwing allowed for the bat to fly into the dugout instead of around the dugout. Either way you "men" are arguing whether or not a sophomore did something intentionaly 13 years ago, and getting pretty pissed too. I think Brian Wilson throwing a complete game is the bigger story here!

2000 and it wasn't really a fight, it was more of a heated argument. The game had just ended on a close play at home to eliminate Clemson from the CWS

So 2000 was the year they got in a fight. Got it.

If you want to call the Clemson catcher throwing a hissy fit a fight, then go right ahead

Lots of similar players on both teams

So Hill launched an aluminum bat into the ULL dugout (many say on purpose), Heath taunted them after hitting a bomb, AND ULL players were the "assholes" during that series. What am I missing?
I remember a lot of excessive celebrations and taunting on both sides, but Hill was the only one who threw a bat into the dugout. You don't throw a fricking bat in the dugout. That's bush league. And let's say it was on accident. Then at most both teams are at fault for what happened.
So why is ULL getting all the blame?
I know the answer. It's because I'm on an LSU board where many can't see clearly through their purple and gold glasses. And obviously have a deep down fear of the mighty Ragin Cajuns.

Then, "many" would be wrong. imo

I don't really "blame" any certain set of players, but I do think the UL@L coaches allowed their own emotions to get out of control. I also think UL@L, players, coaches, and fans, came to BR with a chip on their shoulders.
It was an emotional Sunday and both sides made their mistakes. imo

OH..IF that were true (and a BIG IF), then isn't that the same thing LSU fans did to Tebow? Why is it OK for LSU to do and not ULL?
