Then you should know that no one who has been around the game is gonna hurl at bat full force in the direction of anyone whether you like them or not.

Its not the chum way to play the game, but neither is it when pitchers drill batters for standing too close to the plate, spikes high going into a bag, tags being applied hard to a helmet, etc.

All part of what makes baseball hardball.

Baseball has all sorts of options for delivering a message.

Write a note on a baseball and throw it hard into the other dugout.

Tic-Tac-Toe can also be done in the same manner

You really can't compare intentionally throwing a bat into a dugout to anything you listed.

Hell, their are bat kids and bat girls in plenty of dugouts.

I bet you think the Wichita state coach was playing hardball by throwing at the kid in the on deck circle

So Hill launched an aluminum bat into the ULL dugout (many say on purpose), Heath taunted them after hitting a bomb, AND ULL players were the "assholes" during that series. What am I missing?

I remember a lot of excessive celebrations and taunting on both sides, but Hill was the only one who threw a bat into the dugout. You don't throw a fricking bat in the dugout. That's bush league. And let's say it was on accident. Then at most both teams are at fault for what happened.

So why is ULL getting all the blame?

I know the answer. It's because I'm on an LSU board where many can't see clearly through their purple and gold glasses. And obviously have a deep down fear of the mighty Ragin Cajuns.

First off, loyal tiger you are not.

Secondly, they were messing with the lsu hitters during pregame batting practice. Trash talk and the like. When wally pontiff is mad at them, you know they did something wrong.

Thirdly, im sure ULL was hoping theyd get their chance to gloat, but after the game started, they didnt have any opportunities

You been watching baseball in prison or something? Nobody intentionally throws a bat into the dugout. "It's a mean game, dude"...what is that supposed to mean? When is the last time you saw retaliation that wasn't a bean ball are a runne sliding hard into a base? What the frick is "mean" about baseball?

When is the last time a bat was thrown into the dugout and questioned whether it was intentional or not in this "mean" game? The LSU/ULL game is the only one I can recall.

You must have played prison ball cause the use of a bat as a some kinda weapon has never been part of any baseball that I have played or seen played.

Pitching inside is a far cry from using a bat.

Tell me the times you have seen anyone use a bat on an opponent to deliver a message. You are in quick sand and sinking fast with this one.

UL@L screwed up big time by not following the right option. When a player calls your team out with the HR stare into the dugout, you don't charge the plate getting the umps attention. You wait for that LSU player to come to the plate and you stick that "hardball" of yours into his back. If you follow that option, you don't lose your manager or a pitcher for the next game. Not that it would have mattered on that Sunday.

Because I don't wear purple and gold glasses then I'm not a loyal fan. So be it.

Let's say they were. LSU did a little trash talking themselves. So let's call them even. Not even bringing the Hill incident into play. Again, both at fault. Why are ULL players the villains?

Has anyone said otherwise? Quit looking for things to be outraged by.

Are you surprised to see bias on an LSU forum? If so, and you are serious with this question, I have nothing more to say.

I believe that because I don't think he would intentionLly throw a bat into a dugout, Heath on the other hand, what he threw into that dugout was intentional.

Solid argument.

You don't even remember if it happened or not. Let's just say it did "a few years ago" in this "mean game." At least he was throwing it at an individual. You don't throw a bat into the dugout to hit a random player. Or maybe a coach. Or a ball boy/girl. Or maybe a fan sitting above the dugout.

But, if this game was as "mean" as you say then I would probably watch it more often. Would definitely make it more interesting. I think they should carry the bat around the bases with them. Would make the game a LOT more interesting.
