Look, I'm #AllIn4LF, but you can't be so foolish as to think that Hill's decision to declare for professional football has anything to do with Leonard Fournette signing with LSU.

it would be a sick combo if Hill came back and we lock up LF... but idk if it would help his draft stock. Not sure what else he could do to prove himself. he would be coming back just for a title run which would be sweet

Hill isn't coming back for two reasons. One LF is coming in and could legitimately pass hill on the depth chart. Second, he cant' stay the eff out of trouble so he's gonna get his money before his stock drops to TM7 status.

I thought Odell was gonna come back if he wasn't a top 15 pick?

I really don't understand this, maybe one of you can help me out.

What other team in college football has 19-20 underclassman to the NFL in two years?
Not to mention guys that just aren't that dominant.
We have guys leaving that can't dominate the college game yet they turn pro.

Why aren't other teams having this type attrition?

If they are I'm just unaware of it, I get having 2-3 come out early but 12? Then 8?
Really?

It's a huge problem for this program if it happens again this season.

I personally hope that they all return, but I am sure some will bolt. I think that Hill and Collins will be the two highest rated guys, but I do not see them going until very late first or in the second round. I know that Beckham and Landry are very good college football players, but they are both short and slow in terms of elite NFL receivers. Ferguson and Johnson should both return in an effort to improve their status; in particular, Johnson had a poor year. Should Hill opt for the draft, I could see Blue staying in an effort to improve his stock; I seem to remember that Blue's family lost their house and possessions not long ago so he might need the money now. He will not be a high pick however, and he might have to go the free agent route. I do not think that Hilliard is draftable. Since his freshman year, he has not done much. He does not run with vision at all. I truly hope that most of these guys come back to experience their senior season.

Once again, why isn't this a problem for the other 100 plus college football teams in America?

SEC schools in particular.

Other teams are having the same problem. It is due to the fact that they don't get the big bucks until their second contract so they want to get that first one over with sooner to maximize their career earnings. Of course you have to actually make a team to get that second contract which a lot of these guys who come out early don't do.

And who did we lose who really hurt us? The biggest one, Mathieu, was already off the team. Okay Minter, Mingo, Montgomery, Reid and Logan hurt. That's five. Alabama had three.

We miss Wing but he was probably not coming back anyway due to academics and being in the coach's doghouse. Ware and Ford, as good as they were, had more than adequate replacements. Faulk had been injured all year. Simon I think was overrated. So there you have it. It hurt but not as much as the numbers would have you believe.

If we get Fournette and still have Magee, then Hill, Blue and Hilliard leaving is no biggie. Landry and Beckham will be missed but we still have some talented receivers. We will just throw to the tight ends and halfbacks more often.

Ego I will miss. Freak I won't. All of the linebackers and db's can go. No problem. Same with Rasco. Give the young kids a chance. They are probably better.

Collins is a guy who, if not projected mid second or higher, could really make money buy coming back an getting into high first.

I'm not sure that Landry or Beckham could really boost their stock, but they also seem like the type of guys who might value the college experience more. Would not be shocked if both left, or either or both stayed.

I see what you are saying, but you are totally disregarding the possibility of improvement and the value of experience.

You get neither of these with new young talent.
It's a cycle, I'm just not a fan of the grass is greener notion.
Not if you want to win the SEC and beyond.

8-9-10 wins? Sure.
Next level? Not happening with the scenario you just painted.

Maybe im not following what you're saying, this didnt hurt us? Our defense was decimated by these guys leaving early. We'd have been national championship level on both sides of the ball if even a few of these guys had stayed around.

I think Hill could improve his draft status by proving he can behave for a year.

Qb from UCF is one top qbs in college, possibly first qb take and they just said he didn't know if he was declaring.

This is what i don't get about our player who decide to leave early.
I guess it boils down to the fact many of these guys are that money hungry.

This x 1000. Of all the guys that left early last year, only a couple are solidly on NFL rosters, The others would have benefitted from another year of experience (or an education for life after football).
This year's players even more so. Only Landry and Odel have dominated this year enough that they should consider the NFL. those 2 guys' draft stock likely wont improve with a new QB next year so i wish them the best. The others could jump into the first round if they came back another year and would be stupid not to.

And don't forget Brockers who would have also had eligibility remaining this season. The entire 2011 defense with the exception of Mo could have been on the field this year from a college eligibility stance. We have an entire defense in the NFL that could still be playing. This hammers the program.

Up front: Mingo, Brockers, Logan, Montgomery and losing Minter in the middle was devastating. Then TM7, Reid and Simon decimated our depth in the secondary. Put those cats on this years team and you could order the crystal ball to be delivered early to LSU.

Out of all of the players that are eligible to leave, Hill is the most likely to go IMO.
