Uh, generating any freaking offense. Did you not watch that UGA game?
We were down 10-0 late second quarter against UGA and had 12 yards total offense. Badger turned that game around with his first punt return for a TD. His second punt return was even better.
Yep, that's what I was saying and considering it was 2011 I thought it was obvious I was talking about the games and not the season, lol. We were also down to Arkansas, 17-0 I think. Badger came through when it mattered. He really started to hit stride as a punt returner the end of that year, and he was just a sophmor. That's why I'd take him at PR and Peterson at KR.
Peterson against North Carolina was amazing even if he didn't score.

You can throw all the stats at me you want to try to make your point, but until you realize that what he did was sacrifice his return stats by catching balls other returners would have either let hit the ground or fair caught you'll never understand the value he had as a returner. He saved LSU field position by never letting the ball hit and roll. He took chances catching punts in traffic and getting hit right away trying to make something happen. Did he make me nervous at times? Sure did, but his value was in making sure we were in the best field position possible, given the kick and the coverage.

+1000. If you don't realize this, you need a football 101 course.

Holiday probably had the highest yards/return. His problem was fumbling more often than the others.

The answer is either Skyler Green or Patrick Peterson. Mathieu was actually a mediocre punt returner outside of maybe three or four returns at the end of 2011.

Not to knock TM7 but he had 3 good punt returns in his career.
PP7 was better.
TM7 had two awesome punt returns in the UGA game alone.

Feel free to add other great punt returners to jog my memory a little bit.
Billy Cannon should at least receive some attention....

but after watching highlights of the 2011 season last night,
What? Pp was far better. In 2011 TM didn't have punt return success until the last game of the season.

TM7 was the best punt returner I've seen
What? He had 3 good returns and 1 he didn't even score.

They punted away from both PP7 and HB.
No they'd didnt. TM7 had very little punt return success until the last game of the year.

And 1 against UGA
1, 2, 3
The rest of the season he didn't really do much at all.

In 2009, Trindon Holiday averaged 18.1 yards/return
How do all the others compare?

That's how I'll remember Peterson on kickoff. No clue what his average was, but seemed like he's catch the ball, run STRAIGHT head, always breaks the first seam, get touched first around the 30, LSU starts from close to 40. No clue if his avg was even close to that.
TM, however, did some things that should have been IMPOSSIBLE. Our return game against Ga in the SECCG was indescribable.

I guess TM7 is the only PR who did that huh? shite, just last year T White was doing the same shite. Dude runs up and jumps on balls and goes out of his way to not lose a yard or 2.
I'm not bashing TM7. He is one of the greatest LSU players ever IMO but that doesn't change the fact that before those 2 games he was nothing special at punt returner. I'm not saying we should discount those games. He was clutch as frick and single handedly changed the momentum of those games.
But before those 2 games. He was nothing special. And if you think he's the only PR who would go up and fair catch balls in traffic and try and make shite happen when he shouldn't have then you're fricking delusional

Gotta go with Mathieu. Peterson is close second. Kickoffs would be Trindon.

Skylar Green seems like he always had beastly punt returns that were always getting called back. He was a threat every time he got the ball, whereas some guys seem to have made their reputation off of just a few select returns. My money is on Skylar.
