LSU can and will pay the players. It’s a new coaching staff at a program that’s been .500 the last two years. LSU has money knows how to pay players and will be way above average in this.

that good to hear coming from an insider that knows what it will take

I fail to see how any implementation of NIL could be deemed successful.

Excellent post. Thanks for that info. IDK way the state legislature is even involved.

Great post. The day after ESD Florida put forth state legislation so that is easier for coaches to directly discuss NIL with recruits.

Because legislature is why NIL became a thing. The states started introducing bills to work around the NCAA and it forced their hand to make NIL possible.

It seems that, in order for NIL to not be a cash tool for recruiting, you would have to aggregate all of the dollars into a single fund (maybe divided by conference) and split among all of the players/starters/etc in that conference. That’s the only way players are able to share in the wealth of college football (consistent with the espoused reason for NIL), but it isn’t a replacement for brown bags of cash.

Long term, there needs to be a federal law that governs this that all states have to abide by.

Amen to that and I think there will be.

I’m not saying you are wrong but right now our federal government has way more important stuff to worry about than regulating how much college athletes are getting paid.

You don’t need to be an insider to know LSU has always had top classes and has played for the ship 4 times in a 20 year span. A blind man can see we know how to pay and can out bud most of t he time.
