What would happen if LSU lost to Bama and beat Ole Miss, and all three just had the one loss?

It would come down to combined SEC record of each team's eastern division opponents.

Bama has Georgia and Tennessee. Georgia will have a good record, so we need Tennessee to flop.

LSU has Florida and South Carolina. SC will probably have a mediocre record, so we need Florida to shine. We especially need them to beat Tennessee.

Ole Miss has Florida and Vandy. Vandy will have a bad record, so even if Florida kicks arse we will be ahead of them.

It would come down to Tennessee and Florida to give the division title to either LSU or Alabama. It probably won't be enough just for Florida to beat Tennessee, they will have to have a much better SEC record, too. We should root for Tennessee to lose every game (except Bama, of course) and Florida and South Carolina to win every game (except LSU, of course). And, obviously, it certainly won't hurt for Georgia to lose as many as possible (except vs. Bama), although I don't expect it.

Whoever is ranked higher would advance to the SEC Championship.

They used BCS standings when that tiebreaker was in effect, so I think they dumped that tiebreaker when the BCS went out of existence. They replaced it with SEC records of eastern division opponents.

Generally speaking, we should pull for East teams to beat other West teams, since that has a direct impact on the West race. It does get tricky when you look at games like Arkansas/Tennessee or Georgia/Auburn, where the East team winning would help Bama in a potential 3-way tiebreaker, but the West team winning could still affect the West race. A lot to think about, but hopefully we can simplify matters and take care of business ourselves.

I agree, but in those specific examples, I think we'd prefer Arkansas and Auburn win because they aren't likely to be in the picture at the end, while the 3-way tiebreaker is a real possibility.

No doubt that is always the best way to do it.
