Not as great as he looked last year and not as awful as he looks this year.

Somewhere right in the middle is where I think he is.

only dog on him to illustrate that the defense sucks because of lack of talent on the line...

Aranda didn't forget how to coach....he doesn't have the players anymore and he's dealing with freshmen to play in key roles

I don't get it. Everyone gives him an excuse because he doesn't have the personnel here at LSU but he had the personnel at Wisconsin 3-star University?

IMHO he will be the LSU HC within two years because O will be gone and LSU will lose Aranda unless they make him HC.

Alleva knows that his job is in peril if he loses Aranda.

It aint the x and o's it's the bubba and joes. Our D line is shite with no depth. Last 2 years you had nfl middle linebacker, nfl outside linebackers and corner, safety. It all starts up front.

Mostly -- but coaching is big part of it too. And we certainly have the players to beat Troy and not get historically destroyed by Miss State.

The difference, clearly, is coaching.

He's probably miserable working for his former assistant but the 1.8 million makes it a lot better.

He will likely bolt after this season. I think Ed O is crazy and has placed more influence in the scheme he is trying to run.
Last season Ed O was interim and allowed the coordinators do their jobs. This season Ed O appears to think he is better than what he is as a coach and it's showing in the field. He needs to stop the meddling and things will likely show better results.

You people are so damn ignorant it's really laughable that anyone would think Aranda is anything but one of the top 5 DCs in the country. That defense is extremly young and didn't perform all that bad last night. When you offense doesn't do anything that puts way too much pressure on a defense. We held off as long as you possibly can with a young team and being low on DLman. These coaches can't go out there and play.

For what ever reason these guys just seem to play with zero toughness and zero awareness. There is no attitude on this team. There's no one on the sidelines taking charge or making plays when we need them. Devin White is trying to be that guy. Our DL didn't play all that bad considering. They did get pushed around and there's no excuse for that but it's a total team effort and I guess we don't have the right coaches to bring this team together in its entirety.

t UW there is a strong culture and work ethic. Built for 25 years with the same leadership.

LSU needs that culture to go along with its recruiting. Sometimes if you just rely on stars you are relying on paper tigers.

This I believe and ties to White's comments on guys not doing what they should to learn and better understand defensive responsibilities. Being a great athlete means Jack shite when you don't know you and your team mates responsibilities. 1 frick up gives up a score. They can't be dumb, but ignorant is a different situation.

Overrated. I bought the positive hype. He might be great somewhere, but in the current regime no greatness to spare. True also for Matt “the Trickster” Canada.

But you're OK with giving chances to people with past failures? EXTREME FAILURES?

And it's not a pass. His work so far this season is noted, but he does get another chance to get it right. Yes. Because of his past success. Unlike that slack jawed yokel we hired as a head coach.

Never was an excuse under Miles and chavis. Most say there was no development. So, in this case, why is there no development? They aren't all freshmen.

If given the structure to teach, develop and execute he has proven to be a good to great coordinator.

O cant provide that structure

I'm not ready to say he's shite, but don't you think it's very telling the years they actually faced good big 10 teams they got stomped on?
