Cody is talking about the hype that is surrounding Scott. But he belives that Etling and McMillan are better QB's right now. He talked about how Scott will show off his athletic ability, and will make some very nice throws, but he's very inconsistent in his throws. He used the word sporadic.

Does anyone see Scott eventually making a position change, like with Shepard?

I see him transferring before making a position change.

Anyone have insight to the root cause for the inconsistency? Is it physical (e.g. mechanics) or mental (e.g. reads, processing)?

I feel bad that the kid passed on a Harvard education and the connections that go with that to be third string here.

Perhaps his realistic expectation was to gain experience for a couple of years at a D1 school before eventually transferring to Harvard, where he was serious about committing to before LSU offered.

Since Scott has a strong work ethic and well above average intelligence, is there any chance he can put in a lot of time this summer and improve his passing skills?

I don't see why you'd feel bad for him. It was his choice, and he had to have known what he was up against when he signed. I think he just wanted to play for LSU that much.

Scott was a 64% passer his senior year of high school. I dont buy he's really inconsistent in the passing game. Harris was absolutely inconsistent in the passing game,. which probably explains why in high school he hovered around a 50% completion percentage.

You don't have to be convinced, the coaches are though.

I just think he needs some time. At this level the windows are so tight that you have to know certain things like throwing a receiver open, and not fit it in a tight window while moving etc. Just takes time, but if you can get the running game going, he could be successful in play action situations, or running while using his rb's as blockers. He might get passed up, but he has some skills and intangibles that could translate well in situations, and some upside if he puts it all together..,

Harvard does not offer Athletic Scholarships so he didn't pass on any free ride to Harvard.

Some of y'all just post anything regardless of facts and just continue to repeat it.

True, no Ivy's do but Harvard and the Ivy's have endowments like no other schools and offers financial aid that means many student pay no tuition, etc. and few pay full price. I think most athletes meet some criteria that allow for some specialized stipend that is not an athletic scholarship, technically. (Hardship, financial need, special talent.)

He had an offer on the table to play football and get a free education. My wife was his counselor at Zachary. They don't give away "athletic scholarships" but they have workarounds for a lot of athletes to not pay for the education.
