He gave mett the free reign and that "1st round" pick kept forcing it into double coverage when he had receivers running underneath all night. No wonder Landry was showing all that emotion when Mett finally started looking at his slot and tightend receivers in the second half...frick this....where is my dog to kick..

My friend got up off the couch after the third turnover and fake kicked the oldest dog in the room.

People were appalled.

I laughed.

Does that remind you of anything? Think back to J. Lee as a freshman, thrown to the wolves with little or no effective QB coaching. How many pick-6s did he throw? What did that do to a promising young QB then? What about now and throwing the three interceptions at Ole Miss? Play calling and coaching decisions. Poor substitute for excellence and execution. Results speak for themselves. Mett checked out last week when the CLM pound it out ground game became the offense again, IMO.

There is such a thing as checking down to shorter pass routes.

You're right, we shouldn't coach the QB how to not throw into double coverage and/or how to scheme against a defense that double covers our two best WR leaving everyone else single covered with lots of space.

Neither of those things are part of "airing it out."

Some people are just morons. Throwing it deep is not the same thing as having a competent passing offense.

I don't think they said "Hey, Mett throw that shyt up into double coverage when u got Landry, Boone and dickson running underneath with single coverage". Mett drank all that 1st round draft pick shyt and was chunkin those balls up to OBJ for grabs....

Hey you dumb clown, he could have thrown it to other recievers or just thrown it away.

If those 3 interceptions had been all on him, he'd have been benched at halftime.

Take your pick. Giving either one some meaningful snaps would be something. But Mett wasn't benched and thus my point. The coaches knew this was on them for making those calls to begin with. They set Mett up for failure.

Is this a joke? If shitty play got you benched, how did JJ start all those games for us?

Mett IS a 1st round pick, dickhead, while Bo Wallace will be selling insurance and playing in flag football rec league when he leaves Ol Miss. So the fact that the big "Chief" made him look like an All-American QB last night speaks volumes about how SHITTY, AGAIN, his passive gameplan was.

Because putting in a true freshman on the road down 10 would have been better

Seriously don't blame Mett's poor decisions on Miles & Cameron. Were there mistakes made last night? Absolutely, but those picks were all on Mett you can't blame any of the coaches for his poor decisions. Should we have run the ball more? Absolutely but we played from behind the entire game and in the 2nd half being down 17pts unfortunately the situation ended up dictating we pass more than we should have. The only time I blame the coaches for not running more was on our finally drive after we converted the 4th and 10 we should have pounded the rock until we scored because we needed to bleed off more time on the clock because of how our defense was playing.

But I do not want to go back to what we used to do on offense because if we do that with the defense we have now we would lose 5 games a year maybe 6.

Please explain why all of a sudden Mett looks like Lee and Jefferson as soon as Miles went back to his style of offense? Miles is a qb killer.

Mettenberger is playin more like a 3rd round pick right now. And I'm glad he gave him free reign to throw. Just one problem. He threw the ball into double coverage and some throws were badly underthrown. Like to a wide open Landry.

I think we should run the ball. That's what we do. Mett seems nervous and indecisive.
