Just saw on ESPN that 'Westgate Las Vegas superbook', has LSu, along with Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Tennessee, at 15-1 odds to win the 2016 National Championship. The only teams with better odds (in order) are Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio St, and Baylor. Good to know that even Vegas considers LSU to be in the hunt next year to be one of the better teams in the country once again.

I never understand why people pay attention to these, let alone start threads on it.

So they are saying we are the 6th to 10th best team in the country going into next year.

Not bad. Just goes to show that while a lot of LSU fans seem to be down on the program, the rest of the nation (and people who put money down) still view LSU as a football power.

well when you look closer at it we do have a lot going for us going into next season. A top recruiting class, nearly entire defense returns and plenty experienced players and upperclassmen on offense as well, possibly the best RB in the country, a experienced upperclassman at QB, and a possibly improving offense scheme. All the parts seem to be in place for a good year next year and possible top 10 finish. It could be said that we have a realistic shot at making the playoffs and the NC is not out the realm of possibility.

Also, according to vegas, LSU has a better shot than either Arkansas or Ole Miss.

personally I wouldn't put money on it, but there must be people who are if the odds are that low. If the line moved to about 25-1 or 30-1, and there was a legitimate legal sports book here in New Orleans area, I would put a little money down on LSU. I feel pretty good about next years team and could see them moving back into the upper tier of teams in the SEC and have a shot at the NC.

If you think Baylor is legit top 5....lol. Big 12 has to be worst conference out of p5..almost all got destroyed in bowls.

So a top ten finish with a legit shot at the playoff isn't good enough? Why is it that so many think perennially being talked about as one of the top 10 or so teams in the country is an unacceptable result?

I was saying last night that we were all lauding the play calling and how the offense was growing in 2015 until the Bama game. It turns out that it is hard to call a creative game when your QB, FB, and key OL all get hurt at the same time.

That said, Steele was an obvious liability but replaced with an upgrade in everyone's eyes', our maturing QB will be healthy again, and we return a ton of influential starters on both sides of the ball for the first time in a long time. We WILL be very good next year and very good is all anyone should expect from any college team.

Downvote away, I don't care, we're all Tiger fans in the end. I just happen to think we were primed for a run this year before injuries. Rest assured though, we're even more primed for next year especially if somehow Beckwith and/ or White return, Beckwith being the biggest piece of the defensive puzzle...

Saban loses at least 9 starters and he will continue to out smart coach Miles.

Can't understand why Tennessee or Baylor would be so highly thought of in advance of 2016. They might turn out to be good...but nothing in 2015 shows me that.

I don't know if you follow recruiting or not, but they have finished with the #1 rivals class 6 of the last 8 years. It's not that he "out smarts" other coaches as it is that he "out recruits" them. Also they are the favorites once again next year and rightly so.

While our SEC west rival is putting its fourth NC trophy on the shelf in 7 years, hey Les is a nice guy though.

don't know what's up with them either. Must be a team on the rebound sort of like LSU.
