I have a friend that swears to this on his mother's grave...

He asked TM at Fan Day "How does your momma pronounce your last name so I know what's right"



TM laughed and said it's actually "MA-THU"
Hilarious if true.....he may go 4 years as one of the best in the conference with no one saying his name right.

I would say you are probably right. Hawthorne sounds like it's the first time he has ever tried pronouncing TM's name, every single time. I swear he hasn't pronounced it the same way twice - and as many plays as TM makes, you know his name is being called a lot.
