Tryann Mathieu vs Charles Woodson

Charles Woodson forced 1 fumble his entire career. 97' Heisman year he had 44 tackles. Mathieu has 9 career FF, 35 tackles in 5 games.

Its the return #'s that made Woodson special ... Mathieu isn't close in that category.
But at the same time, if it's a give and take, he seems to have better #'s in the field, so maybe he can afford to be worse returning

Yeah, if Mathieu could get a punt return for a TD during the Bama game it would boost his chances greatly. Lots of good RB;s this year, so chances are slim no matter how well he dies.

Going to Michigan got him the Heisman. See Champ Bailey at UGA not even being invited.

Woodson was overhyped because he was on Michigan. Also, he played a little on offense if I am not mistaken and was a beast as a punt returner.
That is the only thing he seems to have done better than TM7.

trex makes up for the lack of punt returns with his other touchdowns and plays.

Tyrann is a very good returner, but he just never gets a returnable ball. Kickers have really kept it away from him. Some of his 5-10 yard returns have been something, making lots of guys miss. His ball skills will keep him there, and he will break one soon.

I dont think he has 9 fumbles forced this year. He has 9 in his career.
