Great article that points out what has to be done! Also interesting that an Ole Miss booster(Sean Touhy) was the conduit for Saban's hiring.

Good points all around. I agree with his Herman assessment, small sample size at a non-FB power school and I'll add vs avg at best schedule... Could be BIG, might not be...
With that said I think J.F. is the right choice. Exp running a major program (big games/on the road, recruiting), with a NC, and he has experience in the SEC. Pay the man, keep Aranda, sort out the rest of the staff...and finish this 2017 recruiting cycle STRONG. GT!

Yes, at least we know with jimbo we can get a 40 point bowl loss, and 50 point regular season loss, both over the last 5 games....both when having superior talent....but hey, no red flags there...lmao

We also know he can win a national championship, and make it to the playoffs.

And coach the hell out of a quarterback.

I want Herman, but Jimbo clearly needs to be option #2. Orgeron shouldn't be in the top 25.

Love him, but he's just not qualified.

Anybody who thinks we should hire Orgeron is crazy. I was all for firing Les...but if his replacement is Bebe then why the hell did we fire Les?

Great Interim Coach does not equal great long term coach.

Orgeron could be my 2nd choice behind Herman and before Jimbo

Mark my words they rue the day they pass on Herman (if they do). Jombo fisher is what he is. His team got blown out by petrino 63-20.

Jimbo is skating at this point. Herman is going to be dominant for 20 more yearsm

I think Herman is a great coach as well, and I would love to see him at LSU, but remember he plays Louisville this year, so if he get's blown out too, are you going to apply the same statement?

No. And we shouldn't. Jimbo clearly has superior talent. Herman doesn't.

Hell, Petrino got blown out by MILES when his team was ranked #3. If Miles had Petrino's temperment......it would have been a slaughter of epic proportion.

But, I recognize that Petrino is a better coach than Miles. Miles is a MUCH better human being.

Again, I'm not saying LSU shouldn't hire Herman, but Jimbo also has a NC, and made the playoffs. I would be happy with either, and with Herman being so young, I think he would be an outstanding hire, but I also thing Jimbo would be too.

It's Herman

Jimbo.

Herman is a winner. I don't care if he's only been a head coach for a little over a year. In that time he has beaten Vanderbilt (SEC), a good Memphis, Oklahoma and Florida State. Hell, he may win out and go to the playoff this year. He's young, super smart (Mensa member) a people person and a leader. I don't want us to look back on this years from now and say "damn, we let Tom Herman get away" because his "sample size" was too small.

What Herman is doing at Houston is extraordinary with paltry facilities, minimal budget, lots of 2 star talent. there was some talk about Bob Stoops being considered via one reliable source. Heck, Herman so out coached Stoops G1 of the season.

Herman team beat Fisher's Noles in the Peach Bowl and then beat Oklahoma this year. He was OC at Ohio State that killed Alabama in BCS national championship game with a third string QB. He is a member of Mensa which means his IQ is well above any of the other coaches. He has already made a great impact in the Texas requiting area. This man is head and shoulders above any others. After Saban's lost to Ohio State he flew Herman and some other OS coaches down to pick there brains. He is 41 years old and would have his best years to give to our program. WE need him and only him!!!!!!!!

1st. HERMAN may lose that game but he won't be blown out. 2nd. You realize Herman has less than vandy level talent and jumbo has far better overall talent than louisville.
