That's not how it works. There's no guarantee he will come to LSU, so like someone else said, Jimbo needs to be on the short list as well.

1st. HERMAN may lose that game but he won't be blown out.

You don't know that, until they play.

2nd. You realize Herman has less than vandy level talent

I disagree.

You have to make him say no to the deal.of a lifetime. If 7 mill is his number then so be it. That's what jimbo would command and he isn't going to be as successful as Herman here.

Herman is an offensive nick Saban but he also has so many intangibles that will improve the overall culture and spirit of lsu footbal.

I agree 100%, but there's no guarantee he'll come, so you have to consider other candidates.

Yep, last 6 seasons as HC of a major program/FSU - recruiting in FL and across the country, competing on a national stage:
10-4
9-4
12-2
14-0 *wins NC
13-1 *loses in CFB PO semi's
10-3
2016: 3-1

Why would we want him? Really? Not opposed at all to Herman, but you analyze their HC exp, where they have played, who they have played, and the overall results...Jimbo stacks up nicely, and would be a great choice.

Herman might be wanted by the fans, but Herman might not want LSU. Rumblings of him going to possibly USC or Texas.

Herman should be the guy. I love O's energy, but he never showed anything at Ole Miss that suggested he can lead a major program. He's the easy way out for administration at the end of the year if the team get 9 wins (not likely).

Hard to believe Emmert was the one who started the ridiculous salary craze of college football coaches with the Saban hire.

Sounds like Saban recruited LSU more than LSU finding him.

agree with his Herman assessment, small sample size at a non-FB power school and I'll add vs avg at best schedule... Could be BIG, might not be...

Yep. Could be Meyer 2.0, Curley 2.0, or anywhere in between.

Jombo fisher is what he is. His team got blown out by petrino 63-20

Just having trouble with the Jimbo lovefest many people have, I still think we need a fresh start with a young dynamic coach.

That is of course if we cant get Petrino

If Herman or Jimbo deserted their players in mid season for LSU it would speak loudly of their self centeredness. I would not want that at LSU. No room for that here.
In the meantime we need to see what Coach O can do with little time. No way I would bail out on O right now.

It's all BS rumors right now. First, neither of those schools are getting rid of their coaches, and neither them or LSU has even talked to Herman. People are just piecing together his past to try and guess where he'll go.

If we hire Bob Stoops, I will stop following LSU football.

With Stoops, it has to be his agent playing the game...

Yes, at least we know with jimbo we can get a 40 point bowl loss, and 50 point regular season loss, both over the last 5 games....both when having superior talent....but hey, no red flags there...lmao

You'll have to cut him some slack. He was a little exhausted going 23-1 in conference over a three year period, which not even the great Nick Saban has ever done.

This.

Ride the O-train through November, Start reaching out in post-season to potential targets.

Not really.

Go after the top 25 already established head coaches. I don't care how long of a shot they are.

This. Not sure what the obsession is with him. QB development should NOT be the only thing a coach is known for. I want SEC experience.

I think it'll be Jimbo. He's the safest hire imo
