I love how Jimbo's losses are the deal breaker but we just gloss. Over the fact that Herman lost to a piss-poor UConn team.

Star QB injured on the road, they lost by 3. Jimbo lost by 7 to a 3 win Georgia Tech team, and was crushed by that same Houston team.

But I'm not in the camp that Jimbo's losses are deal breakers. I just want Herman.

I agree with his Herman assessment, small sample size at a non-FB power school and I'll add vs avg at best schedule... Could be BIG, might not be...

Reminds me of Urban.

I'm all in with Herman at this point. If jimbo is going to need 7 mil then I'd much rather Herman. And if Herman doesn't set college football on fire, I'm willing to take that risk.

Saban's Bama teams were embarrassed by Utah and OU in bowl games. Of course Fisher has no excuse for the flogging he received from Louisville.

but Herman is the next legend.

Herman is definitely my first choice, but that statement is so fricking stupid. You're claiming a guy is a legend based off of one and a half winning seasons in a horrible conference.

He also has Greg Ward Jr right now, one of the most electric players in the country. How do you know he doesn't go 8-4 or 9-3 without a GW type talent?

You are criticizing a guy who is a top recruiter, has a national championship, has dominated a good conference the entire time he has been there, and has made the playoffs half of the years we've had a playoff.

While calling a guy who has one single bowl win and a loss to UConn a "legend"....

Jombo fisher is what he is. His team got blown out by petrino 63-20.

so you wouldn't hire Jimbo because of one game?

Even though he's 71-15 (40-9) in the ACC?

Even though he won a national championship in 2013?

Even though he's been to another BCS bowl in 2012?

Even though he's had another playoff appearance in 2014.

All within 6 years?

good lord, guys, every coach loses games, sometimes to teams they shouldn't lose to.

It's not the losses, it's whether a coach's team is consistently unprepared, undisciplined, unmotivated, sloppy, etc.

Teams lay an egg once in awhile. It happens. That's not fatal.

It's how often it happens, and how a team plays, week in and week out, that a coach should be judged on.

Where did I criticize him other than say he lost to a 3 win G Tech? I called him Bob Stoops, a guy who won a ton of games in his conference, won 9 conference championships, won a national championship, played in 2 more, and just went to the playoffs last year.

I said Jimbo would make us a top 10-12 program, but Herman has that Urban Meyer feel to him, and with Louisiana talent, that is F*king scary.

Jesus Christ you said that and that other fool replied and seems like you didn't even read my post. I literally said his losses aren't deal breakers.

Jimbo would be great, but I want Herman first and foremost.

CEO has done a great job selling himself.

Proof is right here in this stupid statement.

...and win 29-games in a row.

Jimbo has his bum games, but when you go on a 29-game winning streak, I think you're allowed those (though I would obviously still go nuts like anyone else if my team got killed like they did against Louisville). The bigger issue is the slow starts for his team (but he has been the best at halftime adjustments and finishing strong).

I would love Herman, so I hope they push hard for him. However, Jimbo is 8-1 against the SEC (including 2-0 in bowls against them with one being the national championship. Jimbo was the coach that ended the SEC dominance in the NC). Florida was dominating FSU and won 6 in a row until Jimbo took over and now FSU has won 5 out of 6 and blown out Florida in all but one of those wins. He also helped LSU win 2 SEC titles and an NC.
