The problem was Crowton called in something
Miles wanted to run something else
Confusion reigned
Ultimately Miles is responsible

You also had two QB's that were rushed into play before they were ready and Crowton continued to pass the ball with Lee and ruined his confidence, as a result Jefferson gets the nod with a leash and he was just as gunshy as Lee plus he was too slow in his read progressions

Is he ever involved with the offense when Lee is out there? I always sit him just moping on the bench.

He needs to be next to TC McCartney on the sideline with a clipboard and headset IMO

Meh, i think he adds a wrinkle to the offense that people have to gameplan for. The transition looked smooth, natural instead of awkward and forced this weekend. Im all for him getting in on a short yardage play, and rolling out on a playaction jet sweep to RS and bombing it to RR. The fact that his passes looked better this weekend gets me excited. I want Lee to play 90% of the time, but im not opposed to JJ getting in to give Lee a breather and some time to get a good play drawn up on the sidelines

that defense was young and and very green. that was more to blame than the coordinators. imo.

Check your quarterback out dude. Crowton may have had a complex offense, but I'd hesitate to blame him for clock management problems among other things. That stuff wasn't here w/ the QB's previous to JJ. I like JJ, but we're a lot better with him coming in and running around after the game is out of hand. Give JLEE some credit.

That's pretty much incorrect.

You can call it what you want. It was the year of the Co DCs. That defensive coaching or lack thereof is comparable to the offensive the last couple years.

Turrible

Could be better

We had to burn a timeout when he came in on the goalline on the jump-pass TD drive

Something can always be done better, but it looks better this weekend than it did against UK. I'd be willing to bet without Crowton there, alot of things will continue to look better as the year progresses.. No more running an awesome play and not seeing it the rest of the damn year

It was primarily on Crowton but many times JJ had the deer in the headlights look going on too.

there is no basis for this.

if something wasn't run by gary again, it was from year to year. and mostly had to do with not having players for it.

such as no blockin for a wr screen, and no fb. the true reason the i formation was not a big part the last 2 years. plus jj is mobile, it made sense to run some zone read and give him a chance to use his legs.

it was something that was not even practiced but instead was just something that they were expected to handle when the time came during the games. That really is unbeleivable. When you look at our offense this season compared to that, the coaching is light years better. I don't see how it can blamed on anyone but Crowton. The fact that it wasnt even practiced just makes me think of the Co-DCs back in 08. That was some unorganized shite.

A BYU fan I know is friends with a BYU player who played during the Crowton years. He said Crowton would come up with brand new plays in brand new formations 2 days before gametime - and would call those plays during the game. Take it FWIW, but it doesn't sound too far fetched. I'm sure he did similiar things at LSU.

Do you not remember half of our defense staring at the sidelines waiting for a play to be called as the offense was snapping the ball? That would happen every game. That was the worst coached defense I have ever seen in my life.

If im not mistaken, you come in every Crowton thread with shield and armor. Bro, if you cant see the COMPLETE difference in our offense this year, i feel for you.
and im talking about WITHIN the game. He would run something that worked and would go away from it for the rest of the game.

couple times. what i mostly remember was bad assignments and bad angles by the back seven.

plus some offensive troubles as well. to be fair.

You win as a team, you lose as a team, and you manage the clock as a team.

Having said that, only getting one sane play off in the final 32 secs of the Vol game was pretty much totally on the back of the sidelines and the end to GC's days at LSU, fair or not.

I had little doubt he would be gone at seasons end.

I will pat Lee on the back for his play, but one has to be blind not to note the change in the overall smoothness of our offensive play starts on the sideline. imo

Not to mention the Ole Miss debacle... Wasted a large amount of time before the long pass was completed to Randle.

So you think we should've fired Miles instead of Crowton after last season?
