Stevie, I'm making fun of a name that sounds like it belongs on a 5 year old and that person carrying that name is making comments about people being immature.

In fairness, LSU has taken a different stance on these issues than they did in '02, and a different stance than Ole Miss, Bama, and even MSU have taken recently.

After Bama scored their last TD (on a pass into the endzone) in the '02 game with about 5 minutes left in the 4th Q, the band played Tiger Rag just so our fans could chant at them. Ole Miss and Bama haven't cut Rammer Jammer (I think I even heard MSU playing it after one of their TDs at their house this year) despite their fans cursing during that song.

I remember when the 3rd Row guys used to do vulgar cheers waiting for the stadium to open I started in '00); then in '04 cops/state troopers started threatening to arrest them or take their tickets away if they did vulgar chants. Then the took down the rails students used to stand on to lead cheers/heckle opposing fans when they put in new gates.

I think the vulgarity has always been a factor, it has never been as easy for a large group to participate in it on a televised platform before.

I don't disagree but this new breed of students doesn't want to be like generations past, i.e. Hipsters, so they want to take the vulgarity to a new level and then try to justify it.

Political Correctness is what the DNC, that's the Democrat National Committee,( not what your girlfriend has after having sex with you)to silence the opposition or anyone who criticizes their ideology. You can thank Hillary and Bill for that. I doubt Bill would turn down getting a BJ from anyone who offered, human or feline.
PC has nothing to do with criticism of your bestiality cheer, Bryan.
To lecture us on the SEC competitiveness is ignorant and arrogant. I'll break it down for you, LSU and the SEC rivalries started before your momma pushed you out. Your Gen didn't just discover it, nor did your Gen invent BJ's, missionary positions, the Kama Sutra or anything related to sex. Your Gen didn't invent vulgar language. Yeah, F*ck,Sh*t,B*tch,D*ck were coined before your Generation was just a smile on your daddy's face.
This is the concern. You act like a bunch of inbred hicks that can't "maintain" when you've had a few if at the height of your "passion" the first thought through your not completely developed frontal lobes is about S*cking a Tiger's D*ck, Really....

We would all like for you to get over your issues with how we handle ourselves on game day. The passion we have for our football team out trumps any attempt at being politically correct on Saturdays in Death Valley....I appreciate you all taking time away from your FAP sessions to read my rabble.

Weak sauce. The part of your argument that fail to realize or account for is that most of us have been students or have been going to these games since before you were born and we were able to "get into the opponents heads" (usually better and louder) without having to use this crappy phrase to get "fired up". If you are fine with being classless, so be it. But don't expect the rest of us who understand your argument better than you and why it fails to accept it.

I dont think our administrators really understand these issues because the majority were not raised on the culture and tradition that a large majority of Tiger fans were. Look around at how corporate game day is these days. I read a wonderful post on here earlier that hit that on the head.

I fully appreciate this

sttdb does not 'spark' the crowd. I'm not for or against it. But this comment is incorrect

This Gen, the Ignorance/Arrogance mentality of Hipsters annoy people not just here. Last year Berlin announced to all American Hipsters, leave and don't come back. And yeah, it was only to Hipsters, not Americans in general.
For decades Nederland's coffee houses have been open to anyone but now they are open to member's only. Some people here may say it's just because Lib Nederland's has gone conservative, but actually it is, and I have relatives and friends there, it is more about annoying Hipsters not being able to maintain, and making a nuisance of themselves. Americans in general are still liked in Nederlands, it is just the Hipsters they don't want going there.

Do the students really think that the Florida game was an example of a "rocking" atmosphere?

That was literally the weakest atmosphere I've seen in a big game at TS.

Equating "political correctness" with the minimum degree of civility one might expect of a pack of poorly-trained mongrels shows just how little justification there is for giving you a computer, much less letting you anywhere near an institution of higher learning.

not gonna lie i don't necessarily agree with most of your post but...

We dont hold our balls and yell or dance, we dont shake pom poms at each other, we dont sing rocky top every five seconds. We get into the minds, hearts, and souls of our opponents and drop the hammer on their puny nail asses.

that's good stuff right there.

Believe me when i say this, 2 years ago I would have agreed to every word you wrote. But now I have a 2 year old. When we go to our first game I want him to see Mike, see pre game for himself, and be able to do the cheers with the band.

I was one who stormed the field against AU in 2001. Instead of trying to take the goalposts down my first instinct was to run to the goal line in the south east corner so i could flip off every AU fan where they all could see me. I witnessed the 8' tiger tail being burned to the ground on that hideous AU van that same night.

When UGA came in 2003 I thought it was hilarious when a UGa fan went into the port a John and an LSU guy tipped it over.

A random a$$, or $hit after a bad play by a drunk doesn't bother me. But at the same time perspectives on what you put yourself around change when you are responsible for someone other than yourself (for responsible parents). As a parent different things are important to me than a college kid. i have to do a lot more than get through the next test, get the next case of beer, and get the next piece of tail. I understand the differences completely.

So when he's old enough to stay the entire game we'll go see LSU play a blowoff game when the students will be gone by the second quarter. It sucks that it is that way but I don't want to have to explain to a 2 or 3 year old what STTDB means. For some reason that one rubs me the wrong way.

+ 17 million.

Maybe if we replace 20k or so juvenile self-centered spoiled "look-at-me I cursed in public children with TRUE LSU FANS WHO REALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR ALMA MATER AND SCHOOL, """"""" A N D """""
it's reputation, maybe Death Valley will start to resemble it's old self.
And maybe we can get the 80-year-old "Tiger Rag" song back that was so unceremoniously dropped because of 19 year-old Jim-Bob from Walker and 18 year-old Heather from Folsom.....

BTW, my great-grandma has blue hair, mine is dark brown.
