re: HB71 (Monuments Bill) Hearing LIVE - meldawg399
Andrew Jackson is going nowhere...
The law the city utilized was intended to target only Liberty Place. Many of the City Council members who voted to put the nuisance law on the books voted to declare a Jefferson Davis day in New Orleans. Time and changing attitudes always move the...

re: HB71 (Monuments Bill) Hearing LIVE - meldawg399
Time to move on from the monuments,
Don't you mean time to move on to removing the next round of monuments? This insanity won't stop until a state law is passed and becomes law. The Confederate statues are the easiest ones to target but now the pro-removal crowd is setting its sigh...
get the right judge.
Makes more sense....but with the liberal interpretations judges issue today, I'm shocked the preservationists haven't been able to win based that their LA constitutional rights aren't infringed by being able to celebrate their heritage....

re: HB 71 Monuments bill being debated now - meldawg399
If it does get out in current form and signed someone will most likely sue over the constitutionality of it.
Not sure how that is affected by the bill, at least the constitutionality claims? I mean if the state legislature can regulate Uber and Lyft, why wouldn't it be able t...

re: "Judge" Reese again denies request for injunction re: Beauregard monument - meldawg399
The original nuisance law was intended to target Liberty only. Dorothy Mae Taylor was on the City Council when it proclaimed a city-wide Jefferson Davis day. Once these statues are gone, they'll move on to their next target whether Washington, Jackson, Bienville, etc. They of progress only as destro...

re: HB 71...Bill that protects the monuments LIVE feed - meldawg399
The problem is, the mayor brought the issue before the full City Council, then his appointees opined that the monuments were nuisances, then the City Council voted based on those recommendations. He had the votes lined up before he brought it to the City Council. Was never a truly democratic proc...
