The purple jerseys are superior to the white ones. They are just aesthetically more pleasing to the eye. I get the tradition of the white jerseys, I do, but let's not act like wearing purple in the late 80s and early 90s was what made those teams terrible.

LSU went to the Sugar Bowl after the '84 season, 9-2-1 in 1985, won the SEC in 1986, went 10-1-1 in 1987 and tied for the SEC title in 1988. All five seasons, they wore purple jerseys at home. The jersey "jinx" is as dumb as the day-game "jinx."
The day game "jinx" means something only in that LSU almost always plays good teams at home in the daytime and that's why the record in day games isn't as good. When they were a good team, they didn't lose those 11:30 a.m. games except for the loss to Ole Miss in 1997. When they would lose 11:30 games, it was usually in the bad years.
