Wow that's some history. Our yellow was horrible BTW

They had better Gold jerseys when they played ND in the Indy Bowl in 97. They went with the White helmets in that game. I think those Vandy jerseys were a short notice thing. That was back when we had to ask the visiting team's permission to wear white at home. Vandy declined because Sweaty had left them high and dry.

I like it. When's the last time we wore purple for a "home" SEC game?

Per NCAA rules, the road team can veto the choice. It was hot in September 2004, and Oregon State didn't want to wear black, hence LSU in purple.

LSU always chooses to wear white in their home openers.

I thought that USED to be the rule. Didn't they change it so that the home team gets to choose?

That would make sense since USCe is the home team.

In 1995, the rule changed from "home team wears color, road team wears white" to "home team chooses, pending road team's approval." Sometime in the late 1990's the SEC made its own rule eliminating the road team's veto. The NCAA's current rule states that the home team wears color, road team white, unless both teams agree in writing to switch, or unless both teams agree in writing to both wear their colored jerseys if their colors contrast.

How to you know NSU didn't veto the home jersey thing, smartass?

The point you made with your OSU picture was wrong. LSU chose to wear white, but OSU vetoed.

Why would LSU wear purple? USC normally wears Crimson at home right? So if this is their home game, uhhh Hello

The purple jerseys are a sad reminder of the "dark times" when "coaches who shall not be named" were screwing up a great program. The white jerseys came back, and then came the championships.

Garnet is their color. Not Maroon. Not Crimson. Garnet.
