Maybe meant they are making a jump to a mid major conference where they would have a slightly better chance of winning.

I think if I saw Chavis jump, I would be scared for him, and his back...

love how all that helps them in football ....

"There are so many more things going on that are more newsworthy than what we've been talking about. But what I see, I see young men that are developing. Why don't they talk about our graduation rate and what Coach (Kevin) Sumlin has help these young people not just come to Texas A&M, but leave here better, leave here with a degree, leave here better spiritually? The leadership we have, coaches put in place. He's put it in place. Our kids are leaving here with degrees, some going to the NFL, and they're leaving as better men. You don't get a chance to see that, because you don't see the inner-workings.
These are the ramblings of a coach at a program that doesn't win anything.

They'll win 8-9 games again and finish middle of the pack in the SEC.
I'd be surprised if they did that well, but probably only a little if they went 8-5 after winning a shitty bowl game.
They open with UCLA, which should be a pretty tough test for a team with a first-year (full time) starting QB. Combined with the fact that Sumlin's Aggies have stunk on ice at home against good teams ever since he's been there, that could be trouble. I'd give them at least a 50/50 chance at losing that one, so count this as half a loss, since I'm talking probabilities of a final record here.
A couple of weeks later, they have back-to-back games on the road at Auburn and in Dallas against Arkie. I expect Auburn to be improved somewhat this year and Arkie should be a tough battle for them as well, considering they took them to OT last year. I think they are likely to lose at least one of these and could easily lose both. But just give them one likely loss out of these two, and that's one and a half losses in the first four games.
Two weeks after that, they have back-to-back games (sandwiched around a bye week) with Tennessee at home and Alabama on the road. In keeping with their tradition of sucking balls at home against ranked teams, and in view of Tennessee's expected resurgence, they very likely lose that one. Of course, they have no shot whatsoever against Bama. They lose both of these, bringing the season total to three and a half losses, and they're barely over half way through the season.
After a breather with New Mexico State, they have Miss. St. (away) and Ole Miss (home) back to back. They're the favorite in Starkvegas and the underdog to the Tunsil's Mama's Light Bill Bears, so they probably split those. That's four and a half losses.
After another cupcake (although it would be hilarious if Coach Wilson's Roadrunners could spring the upset), it's the annual loss to LSU on Thanksgiving night in Kyle, bringing the total probable losses to five and a half, meaning their over/under on regular season wins is six and a half.
A 7-5 regular season would be slightly overperforming and would make 8-5 a possibility with a bowl win, but anything better than that would be surprising. 6-6 in the regular season and 7-6 with a bowl win (or 7-5 and 7-6 with a bowl loss) is just as likely, with anything worse than that being a surprise as well.

Afraid? People want to prevent it but afraid? bullshite. Is aggie a bigger threat than Vandy? Yes. They are treated accordingly.
They are still a smoldering dumpster, i wouldnt expect anything less than overly positive statements from their coaches.

Exactly. You don't become as screwed up,selfish, addicted and totally blind to consequences of your actions in just a couple of years (in college) IMO. It takes years and years of never being told "NO" and never having to deal with the fallout of your stupidity to become as self absorbed and completely ignorant as Johnny Football has become. It doesn't take a lot of self control to stay in the NFL as at least a backup, I mean just look at some of the stupid shite NFL players have done and still managed to hang around the League long enough to make millions.
Its really sad to see (even tho I cant stand the punk) because you can just see his life unraveling right in front of the whole nation and everyone knows what's coming next and its a shame.

Why are some fans so obsessed with Chavis? Quit behaving like aggie fans. Chavis was great for us his defenses kept us competitive for years. There's no reason to hate good coaches that take other jobs. Nobody is cursing frank wilson cause he left.

Who wouldn't?
That aside, Chavis has a long history as a successful DC (God knows his defenses carried more than a few LSU teams who couldn't get out of their own way on offense). It's not unlikely that his defense at A&M next year will make some strides in becoming better. The real question is how much can they improve and coexist with the way A&M wants to play on offense? Improvement is relative. They could certainly be better next year, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will be a good defense.

Yes some fans are mad at the chief for leaving. But most of the anger is all about the manner he left. It was unprofessional. For Frank Wilson's departure, he took a up an offer for a great promotion at an appropriate time.

Boy, that's a huge understatement. I don't understand how you can be that bad at home.
Sumlin is 6-10 at Kyle vs SEC opponents... 6-10.

Chavis mailed it in when he was getting paid by LSU to do his fricking job. Then thinks he's owed something to boot.
frick him and TAMU.
No one is cursing Frank because he didn't leave flipping off the program.

Aggy's greatest legacy in football is failing to fulfill potential. Aggy takes immense pride in the fact that he has all the pieces to be a contender and is a sleeping giant. He never stops to consider that the other side of that coin is that he has been incompetently running a program for decades. Running it so poorly, in fact, that he's created the slumber that has imprisoned their giant.
Aggy's lasting legacy is being imprisoned in a cell to which he holds the key and never figuring out that he could have gotten out at any time he wanted to.
