At this point, Jones should just schedule 8 to 10 minutes a game for Robinson. Tell him "you have 5 fouls to give in 10 minutes. That's one foul every two minutes. If you can't stay in front of your man, foul him, but don't let him get an easy basket. And when you foul him, make sure he doesn't score."

If Robinson could just do that, he would provide some value. He'd shut down the lane (mostly) for those 10 minutes and he'd give Victor and/or Reath a breather without having to play small.

At this point, Robinson should be providing more, but can't he at least do that?

If that's the objective, why even run Darcy off? Seemed to me like that was his exclusive purpose.

They actually seem to be a little better coached also.

A common theme under Coach Jones has been lazy passing. Passes that are soft and telegraphed that result in a turnover. Drives me crazy.
Yes, this is a very valid criticism. I think that is one of the things holding this team back. We aren't crisp with our offense. It is not that we don't run plays it is just that we don't execute them well. Knowing how to set a good, legal pick and have it timed so that the guard can shed his guy off of it is a simple play but one that has to be done with precision and a sense of urgency. Other teams have done it to us with much success. It is the main reason we can't stop dribble penetration.

But one thing that I don't think is given enough attention is that we are playing three freshmen and a JC that never played with the other players before this year. It does take time and hard work to get everyone on the same page. But yes, a lot of it is just carelessness. We are talking about you Mays and Patterson and for all of his other good talents Reath as well.

I agree here. I'll never root against LSU. I'd rather LSU win than to be right, but I do think frustration is part of it...at least for me.

If we've learned anything from the football team, hold your judgments until after the season is over.

That is absolutely fair.

So far CJJ is exceeding the expectations that we had before the season started. Geaux Tigers!

I think expectation is a very subjective notion. In our case I think expectations are lower than they should be for this team relative to the talent based on what we saw last year, so that merely playing near the level we should is deemed by some to be overachieving.

I used up my benefit of the doubt with that shite show last year. I would love to shock the world and for this team to show us something special. But for me at least it's going to be harder earned because of the recent past, particularly last year.

But yes, Geaux Tigers....I only want to see a product I can be proud of at the end of the year.

My main concern is the fact that we don't run plays on offense. There is no discipline or strategy. That is what leads to the poor shot selection.

They run lots of plays. Horns. UCLA. Georgetown. Floppy. Double drags. Lots of stagger sets.

This is such a tired and incorrect criticism. They have at least a dozen sets out of the UCLA 1-4.

Do they run them as well as they could? Maybe not. But they run sets.

See, I somewhat disagree with this. He was trying to drive and do just that last night and was getting shutdown and double teamed. He turned the ball over instead of dishing to a wide open teammate. Sometimes he presses too much, especially when he's not hitting too much. I saw one time last night, he got double teamed trying to drive, and instead of passing to Reath wide open on the blocks, the ball came loose and Victor ended up fouling trying to get the loose ball. Victor was pissed and you could see him telling Blakeney not to do too much. Take what they give you. He's going to be the focal point of opposing defenses from here on out.

I said he needs to create 12-15 foot jumpers. Dribble towards the basket and the pull back for a 12 foot shot. He was trying to drive all the way to the basket. It was too crowded for that.
