I doubt seriously Fisher wants to coach in the NFL. Saban wanted to take him to Miami and he refused. I think he just loves the college game.

We have all seen how the NFL path went for Harbaugh, Saban and now Chip Kelly. It seems they all had plans to get back to the college game.

Yes Fisher has ties at LSU, he also was a friend of the Bowden family for years. Terry Bowden recruited him as a quarterback in small college where Fisher became a small college All American. Then he became OC under Bowden. I think he is fairly caught up in the history of FSU football.

Say what you will, but the ACC's tv deal sucks. Their teams don't get anywhere close to as much tv money as SEC schools. Couple that with a program that is already known for pinching pennies on facilities and staff, and you have a disparity. Jimbo has dragged them along kicking and screaming to improve what they have, but they don't have facilities as good any SEC West schools, with the exceptions of maybe State and Arkansas.

It's at worst a lateral move. At worst.

And regardless of how highly profiled the job is, Jimbo wants to be at LSU and always has. This is home to him and where he wants to be. A lot of y'all are forgetting that. IMO, he's always had the intention of returning to LSU. And he and the FSU Athletic Department aren't really getting along. He felt like they threw him under the bus with the whole Winston thing and he thinks they should have stepped in and helped out and supported him.

And look at the timeline of him signing his extension last year. He waited until it was confirmed that Harbaugh was going to Michigan and not Les, then he signed. Once he realized that Les wasn't going to Michigan and was staying st LSU, he signed his extension. Even though there was just a slim chance that Les was going to Michigan, he still waited to make sure he wasn't before signing his extension at FSU.

I mean is it so outrageous to say that maybe Jimbo would just rather be at LSU than anywhere else?

I would disagree with that, Doak is the largest brick structure in the United States, it can seen from outer space and there is a new indoor practice facility.

No doubt the ACC blew on TV revenue. Swofford is a big time boss hog crook. His main projects were obtaining jobs with ESPN for his sons.

Then he takes in basketball schools such as Syracuse, Boston College, Notre Dame part time, into the ACC to keep his vatican connections happy. Even Syracuse and Pitt are in vatican happy territory.

We keep hearing there are big ACC tv deals in the works, so far only talk.

I was all for FSU going into the big 12, but Barron nixed it and he was from the university of Texas where they have that UT/Notre Dame love affair going. Then Barron gets a pay raise by going to Penn State where the nexus is still strong. I have to wonder if he was a plant.

What about Gary Patterson? I have heard at least one person with high level FSU connections state he is the real target for LSU.

I'm not talking about Stadiums. Those are nice, but what really sells recruits these days are the weight rooms (which you guys still share with other sports, last I heard), academic facilities, offices, and other training and prep facilities. This is where football players spend the majority of their time. The teams in the West are killing it there. Everyone keeps using that tv money to one up each other.

As for indoor facilities, LSU's was built before I got there in 1993, and has been renovated twice since then. I think every team in the West has one. I think Vandy even has one, so that really isn't much to brag about in SEC terms.

Seriously you don't want to compare facilities to LSU.
