Prestige between the programs may be equal, but in exchange for the tougher conference he gets to trade having to split recruiting FLA for recruiting LA exclusively, plus using all of his inroads in FLA built over the past 8 years to pluck some more guys than we have gotten lately.

that you view as a step down. He would not have left LSU to go to FSU with the hope of taking a lateral back as head coach. Come on folks - we know better than this. Set our sights high, but not unrealistic. Same with Chip - if so, you better have a really good plan B, C and D.

You don't know shite.

According to the USA Today (probably not as reliable as your sources), Jimbo makes $5,150,000 plus bonuses while Miles makes $4,300,000 plus bonuses, and your point was?

Yeah, my bad. I saw somewhere that Jimbo gets paid 2.75 mil a year. Clearly my source was wrong.

No problem - I think there is a lot of misinformation on this board.

I will say this though. According to USA Today, we're the 6th highest profitable athletic program in the country. Florida State is number 17. That is going to come into play, IMO. LINK

I think you should go take a look at the coaching changes board.

I agree - plus we pay our assistant coaches a ton of money. I just don't think the pluses will outweigh the fact that Jimbo is in another top program where he recently won a national championship. People on this board are assuming that it is a done deal, and we all know what happens when people assume (remember it wasn't long ago, and we were leveraged by Les going to Arkansas - I mean these agents are smart, and will leverage any opportunity. I don't want that to be the case with our fans and administration).

You better watch out. The all-knowing intellectual giant that is JJSTIGER does not take that kind of mouth from peons like us. Expect an insult heading your way.

bullshite - you leave no stone unturned. It doesn't seem like the move to make, but you never know what reasons someone may have for going to another school.

You think Wisconsin thought their coach would leave after going to 3 straight Rose Bowls to take a job at Arkansas when they were a complete dumpster fire in the SEC West? No, but shite happens.

It has worked okay for Urban (with the Big Ten) didn't it. Also, Jimbo has a pretty recent natty if I remember correctly. Not everyone is playing for the SEC West (believe it or not).

To me, you don't make a move this year unless you already know you have some A-list name saying he wants in.

With that said, you never know who is unrealistic until you try. Everyone laughed at Bama when rumors started surfacing that Bama was trying to lure Saban over there. The laughter turned to tears though eventually. You just never know. Jimbo has a great setup at FSU, but he's going through a divorce and has had some issues with FSU higher ups. He may not want to go anywhere, but he could also want a change of scenery.
