Not so fast, basile...now that Harris has left, it really opens this competition up a notch...and I would imagine Mr. Canada will pick the right guy to run our NEW offense...

The only one stupid enough to claim Scott is 5'10" on a good day is basiletiger. Every one else list him between 6'0 to 5'11".

Nope. The future of this team will rest on the shoulders of McMillan or Scott.

You cannot and I repeat cannot beat Bama with DE at the QB position . LSU is not New England ok . A pocket passer is a no go the Bama Db's are strong and fast their D - line eats you alive they try to hurt you on purpose.

that;s where you go wrong in your analysis. Etling is not just a pocket passer. He' no Michael
Vick but he is a better runner than Harris. He is a much better athlete than gets credit for on this board.

Lmfao I love the McMillan ppl you can tell they know nothing about him. He's an African American so ppl think he's athletic (totally racist) but he's the least athletic qb on the roster and has the worst arm too. He was brought in because we had zero QBS in the class so we scooped him up while recruiting a high school teammate of his. The guy couldn't start for ull, la tech or Tulane he'll never play a meaningful snap for LSU. Scott is also very limited athletically he doesn't have the speed to be a runner at the D1 level and is very short to boot. He's a gamer and a smart kid so maybe by the time he's a Jr. Or Sr. He could be a decent qb but he'll never take Etlings job.

Seems like you're the one with some latent racism. It appears you won't hear anything that could possibly lead you to believe your chosen white quarterback could be bested by someone else on the roster.

4 blank slates. There are 4 blank slates! Scott can play.

couple of flaws in your reasoning.

1. MB wont be here for spring.
2. Its not naive to think that DE has advantage over LN, a true freshman (with no experience, and still recovering from surgery).
3. Danny Etling was a 4 star leaving HS too. Though you might argue that he hasnt lived up to that, neither has anyone on the roster.

Its not a stretch to think that the guy with more experience (who has played solid ball) has an advantage. Doesn't mean it's an insurmountable advantage. But it is a HUGE plus.

You are clueless. Was told by a staffer, that LS threw an 80 yard TD to JM in the underclassmen scrimmage (during the bye week). 40 in the air, 40 yard YAC. JM had a little fun taking one or two snaps at wide out.

has the worst arm too.

Before BH decided the transfer, JM, without question had the 2nd strongest arm on the roster. Couldnt say the same for accuracy, but arm strength is as close to ridiculous as it gets.

He was brought in because we had zero QBS

So what. What does "why" he was recruited have to do with, whether he can play.

Scott is also very limited athletically

now thats just crazy. 2000 yds rushing in louisiana 5A. Ummm. Well damn. lol

quote:

very short to boot

no argument there. But might be the 2nd best runner on offense currently.

Just hope that who ever is the guy, gives us the best chance against the schedule, BAma, and into the playoffs.

Mauck turned the ball over 3 times in the title game. LSU won on the back of its defense.

Y'all claiming all our QBs are on "equal footing" are smoking frigging crack.

Etling has adjusted to the speed of live bullets, and shown the brass balls to take a lick from a mack truck to get a pass off.

Poise and experience = Et.

Errbody else, Scott included, are on equal ground...behind Etling.

And that's the facts, Jacks.

I agree. I think Harris leaving means that Etling is the man, and Harris would have to play great to win the job.

rallying around a team is what being a fan is all about , when you are knocking a team including coaches you are just another enemy working against the the collegiate life blood called recruiting and winning !

Poor "19"

LSU has never really had a play maker at QB. Sit tight. Its coming...

I wouldn't go betting the farm on that, dude. Also, Brennan and Narcisse don't suck.

Actually, if Etling still has the job in the fall, I'd be kind of disappointed. I wish him well, but he just doesn't have the talent to lead LSU to the next level.

strongest arm on the roster.

The strong arm BS needs to stop. Most throws in college don't go over 20-25 yards. 65% completion rate and ability to make reads is much more important than the strong arm crap. How did that strong arm work out for Harris?
