No he is not dumb ! I talked to one of the guys in the room. Michigan never offered him the job. Carr and him had beef and Carr blocked it. That's the 100 percent truth. So that's 1 offer for miles. He is not a hot commodity. He is replaceable. Jack Del Rio, Denver's D coordinator, Charlie Strong, there are many better options!

Les is not perfect, but he is a really good coach. For all those who don't think he can be successful at a lesser program, look at his history. He had the best record in more than 30 years at Oklahoma State and laid the foundation for where that program is today, arguably a much more difficult place to succeed than Arkansas.

Les is a good coach at a great school, the schools success has attracted attention to Les. Put Les at a school where he has two and three star athletes and he'll be less than average. Our studs coming out of Louisiana have pulled his arse out of many games he's lost control of. The man is a fine recruiter and an excellent person but Xs Os, forget about it!

Miles didn't invent the LA studs, as you put it, they have always been here. Yet no other coach has won more in 8 years than Miles. How do you explain that?

His teams have found a way to win in spite of his coaching malfunctions... and yes there have been a few.

Jack Del Rio,
If I hear Del Rio or Gruden mentioned again I'll puke. WTF makes anyone think that Del Rio would be a great college coach?

Anyway, you guys need to be careful what you wish for. Miles is far better than anyone we'd get.

Max, Les is really starting to grow on me. He needs to hire AND allow a new OC to take over the offense.

Can't believe in saying this, but I'd rather him stay.

The AD also looks for them to HIRE "SAFE" coaches in the mind of the Alumni, even if they do not work out, it will be classified as a good hire and the AD's job will be safe.

It's part of their CYA policy.

PERFORMANCE by any coach has a lot of factors which vary...
year to year and school to school, some of that is beyond the coaches control i.e. INTERNAL POLITICS

Saban put up the fence around the state.

All miles has done is keep the fence in satisfactory condition.

So the players committed to LSU this year are committed because Saban was the LSU coach when they were in 4th grade?

How come arky didn't come after him sooner? Seems like he is their 3rd choice

Because it doesn't seem like a possible get? I mean, have they gone at Saban yet...surely he would be everyone's #1 choice, right?

This smells like Arky wanting not to lose face too badly and making a huge offer to a guy they don;t think will come. His agent takes the offer who will then use it to get a bit more out of LSU and Arky can go back to their fans and say we gave it a shot.
