Anyone that thinks that Max is going to start over Myles is out of their mind. Through his first 3 games, Myles had a better start than anyone in LSU history, and that includes Joe Burrow. Everyone that’s arguing that Max is better suited to run our offense is a complete idiot. I can’t believe there’s so many ignorant fans on this message board. Go ahead and down vote away, but come September 4th, Myles will be starting against UCLA

I think it's gonna be Myles too. But, there is most certainly a QB competition. I'm not sure what would make you think otherwise.

Max isn’t worried about hunting and fishing like Myles is so I’m gonna go with him

I have no issue either way as I think both are great QBs, but I wouldn’t be so sure of it being Myles just yet. Myles has him on arm talent, but Max is a straight gamer

How the frick do you lose to Moo State and Missouri and call yourself a winner?

Exactly. Myles getting hurt is Max's only chance of starting this season.

I didn’t realize that Myles gave up almost 100 points in defense in 2 games

I really like both players but I think it’ll be Brennan too. Now we don’t know how much they’ve both improved so who knows how much ground Johnson has made up but going by last season Brennan was the better player putting up better numbers vs better defenses so it’s Johnson who’s playing catch-up despite what a lot of Rant fans may think.

Had chances to win and choked. Burrow would have cut the jugular and finished them.

He has yet to prove to me that he is a winner. Would love examples.

As long as the QB runs the offense and does not make mistakes, I don’t care who starts. But, what you did before a big injury does not always carry over to after the injury. Just like what you fid your freshman year does not always carry over to sophomore year

I like Myles, but let's have perspective. Myles played against 3 teams that were a combined 9-21 last season and he led the team to a 1-2 record against them. That's not a good start.

Flipside, Max played against 2 teams with a combined 13-9 record and led the team to 2-0 against those two.

TD:Int stats were similar and Florida's defense was significantly better than Moo St, Vandy, Mizzou.

Couple that in with the way Max played against AU, Bama, and aTm and I don't think you can say he hasn't earned the right to be in the competition for the starting spot.

No competition?? Myles played well, has a great arm and is a good leader. I hope that he has a great year and it would be great if he starts since he has been so dedicated to LSU.

Max Johnson helped pull off the biggest upset in college football last year without his #1 WR, his #1 TE and LSU's top two RBs in the 2nd half on the road at night in The Swamp. Then he beat Ole Miss at home without all of that talent again. He threw for 6 TDs, ran for another 2 TDs and only had 1 interception in those two starts (and had 10 TDs to 1 interception in his 1st year as a true freshman).

Acting like there is no competition is not reality. Max did a damn good job in an extremely tough situation. Almost everyone thought LSU was a lock to have a losing season down the stretch. It didn't happen and Max played a big part in that.

Myles is transferring after graduation.
TJ is transferring this summer.

Define “run the offense” because some people think that only means lots of passing yards and passing TDs while ignoring time of possession, offensive rushing yards, sacks and efficiency

I worry about hunting and fishing 24/7 and I’m still really good at my job. The fact that he likes hunting and fishing makes me like him more.

Only residual injury would keep that from happening

Myles starts but has to fight to keep the job, imo. We're in good hands. They're both fantastic QBs
