Crazy thing is that Etling is ranked #20 in D1 QBR

Just shows you how stats don't tell the whole story. Danny can't pick up a 3rd down thru the air to save his life.

No, he's clearly not ready. We win the Troy game if MB doesn't play.

This!

And Etling is not the entire problem to begin with. Our WR's are just inexperienced and not that good. We have good athletes but not so good receivers. Etling has guts and plays hard. He is our best chance to win

I like Etling, a lot. I really do. HE gave us everything he had Saturday...... and he's one tough hombre.

But as others have pointed out, he's limited and now has happy feet.

It's true, our OLine is very inconsistent with protection, but Etling came out of there quickly this past Saturday.

Not sure if he doesn't trust his line, or if he doesn't trust his arm.... scrambling for the 1st down is good sometimes, but like others, I see him getting clobbered.

Brennan is clearly more talented... but, Coach believes Danny gives us a better chance to win..... right now.

when a guy is that wide open you don't have to lead him away from defenders just throw it on a line and complete it first

Yeah I understand that but my point is it looks like Williams crept a bit inside his line.

It was a bad throw though, don't get me wrong, it was written all over Danny's face.

Eta. Just watched it again looks like Williams held his route pretty well.

Drake Davis would have caught that but not Williams

No he didn't, he got pressured on his first few attempts.

No one, coaches or players trust the line with 3 freshman playing.

One could actually argue that if Brennan would have played the entire game that LSU would have won.

One could argue if McMillan, Narcisse, or anybody else had played we would have won because we lost.

This is so stupid, because there is no way to ever know.

Exactly.... which is why I commented on black and white statements... because you never know. With that being said there are compelling arguments against the OP statement.
