What scares me is he might get injured and we will have to use our future QB now. Brennan is still thin and makes freshman decisions. I don't believe we could have beaten Florida with him as QB. Etling has been brutalized this year, some of those vicious hits could have hurt a thinner QB. Give his body a chance to mature before throwing him to the wolves with a patch work defensive line.

We will win 4 more regardless who the QB is. This team is very SEC average

That overthrow to Williams along the sideline was BAD.

It was a bad throw. But, that's not his biggest issue. Honestly, he probably makes that throw a large percentage of the time.

The biggest issue we are having with Etling is that he has developed happy feet. On plays when he actually has adequate protection, he's the one breaking down and prematurely leaving the pocket. That's a sign of a guy who doesn't have confidence in his line. And, for a guy with Etling's limited arm talent, it's a death sentence.

I don't know if that can be fixed. The calm, mature, play like a senior Etling was clearly a better player than Brennan. The frazzled, escape the pocket on every play and try to run for first downs Etling is probably not.

I think Auburn will be the last time he starts.

No. That was bad. He was so wide open, you need to make a safe pass. Leading a RB like he's a WR in the open field and expecting him to be able to go and get it is a HUGE mistake. And, its a play that probably was practiced over and over last week. A throw anywhere in the neighborhood is a TD there.

Etling wouldn't have to take those hits if he would let go of the ball and not bail out of the pocket so quick

you know who else makes freshmen decisions? - Kellen Mond, Sam Ehlinger and a bunch of other freshman who make mistakes but also put make a lot more plays and put up more points than our 5th year senior.
And these freshmen keep getting better every week.

There are a few things that scares me. If we put Brennan in too much and those 3 freshman at OL get bum rushed we could lose next years starter. But he needs snaps. Plus Our WR's scare me. Look back at some of the routes run by our WR's. They need to finish. Even in the Spring game they don't always run hard and finish routes. Yes Etling is hot and cold, but the WR's are a big concern to me right now. Along with the coaching at WR.

Look for 75+ next week. The guy is just getting warmed up.

Aubie and the Gumps will break him in half if he continues to try and run against them.

STUPID COMMENT.. how bout not scoring a single point in the first half. You think that might have had something to do with loosing by 3??!!

Exactly. You don't lead a man this wide open. You just throw it to him even if a little short. There wasn't anyone even close to Williams. You only need to lead someone when a defender is likely to be there and you put it where only your guy can get it. Etling should have had pitch and catch on this one.

We get shut out if Brennan doesn't play. Brennan led the first scoring drive for LSU, Etling was pulled when LSU was down 17-0.

The really scary thing is that, not only is obvious that Canada doesnt trust Etling to make even the simplest of throws, but they still think he is better than Brennan.

If that's the case, don't expect improved QB play next year.

Danny is giving his all for the purple and gold. I know it is not adding up, but that's all we can ask.

in the big games it's apparent he feels the pressure and doesn't play to his potential.

but brennan is not coming in for this one reason, imho - orgeron is under such pressure by the fan base that he can't afford to lose with a freshman qb. this board would be going wild. you can find lots of criticism from fans because brennan played against troy.

I would like to hand the keys over to brennan, to tell the truth. not for next year, I think he is a better passer and we stand a better chance of winning some games. but it ain't gonna happen unless there is an injury.

There has been a decent number of successful True freshmen QBs all over the country in recent years. If Brennan isn't an upgrade to Etling right now then he's clearly not the guy people hype him up to be.

I never thought our passing game would drive below Anthony Jennings. This is THE WORST lsu passing offense I've ever seen.
