Yes he did. It was intercepted before Chark stole it from the DB.

The pass protection combined with what seems to be Etling not trusting himself to make the throw on time when he sees it scares me. It looks like he either doesn't trust his arm or his protection. I think he doesn't trust the protection. Here's why:

1. Often he starts to bail out too early because he's already made the decision he's not throwing it on time. This could be not trusting his read/arm or protection.

2. The overthrow to Williams makes it look like he doesn't have a good feel to throw accurately over 10 yards, but then he has made some nice throws in the BYU game and even threw the ball with accuracy against MSU until the 4th quarter. I think its mental, and is something he needs to work out early in the game with high percentage throws, and It looked like Canada tried that in this game, but Etling started trying to press the ball when throwing downfield because he starts to "feel" pressure whether it is there or not. The overthrow to Williams seemed rushed when he had time, and the throw over the middle in the 4th when it should've gone to Williams in the flat were 2 examples of rushing and not seeing the progression because he feels rushed.

As a second year starter and a senior he should not be making these mistakes. He should be coached to move up in the pocket only with the intent of finding a throwing lane and stay poised. His pocket presence seems to be his biggest problem.

I do like his guts and above average running ability to convert 3rd and manageable though.

Here's to hoping his pocket presence improves!!!

IDK... I was actually kind of proud of him in the Florida game. Don't get me wrong, he made bad decisions and terrible passes but he played with passion and it seemed to catch on with the other players. He wasn't scared to take some hits and put it all on the line to get the first down.

He knows his time is limited. He could be hurt. Spurrier once rotated 3 QBs, all of which had different skills. This would cause defenses to have to prepare for all three. There's no more flow with Etling. Brennan can't sustain flow. LN needs injected into flow.

I had hopes that in the new offense Etling could be competent. Not a game changer but decent enough against most defenses he'd face outside of the upper tier teams. I no longer have much expectations of him and the play calling on Saturday made it clear the coaches don't have much faith in him either.

Etling played one of his worst games sat. He seemed to be way off in the passing game. Don't know what the deal was there but let's hope he's past all that because we need him to play better going forward.

One thing I noticed that was... Odd... Was the option play. Etling and whomever the rb was ran the option a few times, but never really sold like he was going to pitch it, which seems backwards... Maybe they're trying implement that, but I don't really know why since etling isn't really a natural runner and Brennan doesn't seem to be either. He does ok scrambling when the pocket breaks down, but not the kind of guy who you build an option offense around.

At the end of the day we got someone who wasnt good enough at Purdue starting for us. Danny is gutsy and I appreciate how hard he plays but if he wasnt good enough at Purdue should say all you need to know

There has been a decent number of successful True freshmen QBs all over the country in recent years

How many of those have been early enrollees and how many came in the fall?

Not being a smartass I'm honestly curious. It bothers me when I watch a team like georgia play with a Freshman qb.

God this fanbase is delusional. Before Brennan got in the game Etling hadn't moved the Ball at all. Think he had 50 yards of passing? Brennan drove us the length of the field on the second drive.

when a guy is that wide open you don't have to lead him away from defenders just throw it on a line and complete it first

Perhaps. But Etling could be benched with no repercussion.

Orgeron ... on the other hand ... could not be hired by the likes of Syracuse. NO ONE wanted him. NO ONE wants him...probably including McNeese.

His alma mater would probably not hire him.

Unfortunately, there are $12MM reasons why this isn't happending ... otherwise, it'd already be done.

Etling gives 100% all the time. In this clown show ... he should be the least of your worries.

If we could get Etling effort and desire from Arden Key ... we might get somewhere.

Good thing we have a "motivator" for a coach, right?

What a load of shite. I just love black and white statments in a gray world.... Breenan actually played OK in his time. He made some bad freshman throws but he also made some throws that Danny can't make.

Etling on the other hand orchestrated a daunting 60 yards of total offense in the 1st half.

One could actually argue that if Brennan would have played the entire game that LSU would have won. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that LSU scores at least once in the 1st half if MB is playing.
